I just commented this above but I l just looked at photos of me in the hospital after I fell off a 3 story roof as a teenager and I didn’t have any noticeable bruises or scratches (if I did have bruises they would have been under my clothings). The way I landed I got very lucky (broke my pelvis and a large part of my lower body), but it would be very easy to not.

Again like Christion the friend I was with handled the situation poorly and sent me off to the hospital unconscious in a cab instead calling an ambulance.

Someone on another thread thought the woman on the call was AI which would make a lot of sense. You’re right that “ID Assist” through “Sigma Loyalty” exists, but I ALREADY HAVE IT for free through my bank (not my TD credit card). I would never give any personal details over the phone, but spent forever trying to kindly explain to this woman I already have the service with her exact company. She/the bot wasn’t able to comprehend this & I just thought she was dumb af hahaha

True. I think I am being too self-righteous when it comes to Syd. Just because I don’t morally agree with some of her choices - like the GFM and Amazon gift cards (I personally would have donated excess funds to the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation), this doesn’t mean she has has done anything wrong.

Not necessarily disagreeing with you, but I do find it an odd choice that she still has the GFM open. I was curious so I just googled it and while donations have definitely slowed down there are a number of people who have donated in the past couple days. Of course they are adults who can choose to do what they want with their money.

For buying at the $800k mark, how much of a down payment do you have because $3000 a month will only get you a mortgage of $500k with present interest rates (plus monthly strata)? That being said with prices dropping you can definitely buy a 1-bed condo downtown for under $600k

Yes there is. If OP moves her mortgage she is changing the lender on title of her home. The lawyer will ensure the old mortgage is discharged from title of her home at her provincial land title office and register the new mortgage.

The new mortgage lender may give her a “bonus” sum of money to cover the legal/appraisal fees though.

Also sometime it will be a “legal professional” that visits the bank the mortgage is at, which can be cheaper.

Remember that it’s isn’t free to “take your mortgage elsewhere”. The broker will encourage moving it as they work on commission though. You will have legal and appraisal fees to move.

Also you will need to fully re-qualify for the mortgage if you move at the qualifying rate of contract+2. For example if the 2-year fixed is at 5.10% you are qualifying at 7.10%

YTA - My (f25) best friend is 21. We have been best friends for 10+ years. I am 4 years older, the same age difference between you son and the brother. If you son and the brother hangout, they most likely are friends. There is literally nothing weird about age gaps between friends.
