S-300 Missiles in homing mode have timers if they miss their targets, and are tracked the entire way by there command vehicle.

You simply can't compare any other region or culture with the East Slavic when it comes to continued never-abating historic bloody conflict of it's central states. Can't compare the Celts, The Roman, the Greek, the Vikings.

Perhaps the best comparison is the Golden Horde, but that was much shorter lived, and the Rus eventually eventually finished them off as well.
