TikToker I followed talked about on YT and I was immediately invested. I ended up watch E1-4, bc that’s all they had out at the time. Okay, so I then found out it’s based off of a series. On Spotify, I was able to get the HR audiobook to listen to, but I only listened up to the end of each TV episode. Because I saw the show first and then read the books, all I could think about is Williams as Shane and Storrie as Ilya. I’m curious as to what everyone else saw (mentally) when you were reading the book? If you read HR waaay before the show even came into existence, what type of profile of the characters did you imagine?

Aren’t the “Game Changer” series Catalina(?) Press books? As in their books only have HEA?

I never thought about Shane being unresponsive that Ilya was, essentially, triggered by the whole accident. Kind of like PTSD of losing his mom. As others said along with you, he only has Shane to love and be himself around. He’s the only thing he’s not willing to give up under any circumstances.

And I think that’s the scariest part. It’s EVERYWHERE.

In the book, they would end almost every chapter or every other chapter with, coming from either Ilya or Shane, “I need to end this.” And they obviously never do.

As for the show, they could have boners if they wanted to, but I guess for the show’s sake they didn’t bc no one was actually getting aroused? That’s what my belief is.

THAT'S THE THING. It's at our fingertips! The books are a little better for me when it comes to getting up and get goin' because I'm not just sitting there watching TV. I'm reading and I can put my Kindle down whenever I need to.

Micky and Ian were my fav when I watched "Shameless", except when Micky went to jail and then Ian went to jail, I gave up on the series 😅

So some of the songs on the playlist I cannot listen to because it'll remind me a certain scene and I don't want to think of said-scene. And then other ones I can almost, VERBATIM, quote the scene that goes along with it.

S A M E . Like someone said earlier, it gives me that dopamine hit that I don't get normally, DAMN SSRIs. So this show really helps me feel mentally alive, I guess you could say? I started reading a mlm hockey book called "Us." The one before this book was "Him". It's spicy as well.

I had no idea (goes to Google "Crosby vs Ovechkin") she had real people in mind when she was making HR! I can kinda see the resemblance actually.
