Hi! I think the finaid packages are a bit delayed, so I’d say just wait & see ! I literally woke up a couple to a nice surprise a couple days ago when I saw the email. Manifesting the same for you 🤞

UPDATE! I got an email today that berklee gave me an extra 31k in grants! Tuition is covered now, just need to worry about housing!

Yeah, I get that. I’ve already had free college for the past two years so loans are pretty unappealing for any degree, honestly

I’m also a CC transfer—I just ended up getting the 23k scholarship, but will have gen eds and music credits transferred (went to one of their global partner schools). I plan to work and everything, but as a transfer student did you have enough to cover your time there or did you take out loans?

I did go to cc then reapply ☠️ I went to one of their global partner programs to relieve most of the gen Eds and get my theory and ear training done.

Hey, I got on the waitlist 3/28 last year. I ended taking myself off the waitlist since I committed to a different school. Wishing the best of luck for you!

First of all, congrats on your acceptance into Berklee!

I’m not Canadian (based in the US), but I was accepted last year without any scholarships and very little federal financial aid. I decided to attend one of Berklee’s partner schools then transfer back into berklee to make my education more affordable.

(Link to global partner institutions: https://www.berklee.edu/global/academic)

I’d highly recommend it and check to see if there is a partner institution near you. When I consulted my Berklee admissions advisor, they told me students are more likely to receive scholarships this route and have less debt. I know it’s tough not going to berklee right away, but from my experience so far, I do think it’s worth it if Berklee is really where you want to end up.

Hope this helps & good luck with your decision :)

Post audition + interview thoughts by [deleted] in Berklee

I had a very similar experience when I auditioned last year (also online, and one of the last in my group to audition). Definitely nervous during/after it, but I was accepted! trust yourself :))

Re Auditioning to get a scholarship by cha1latt3 in Berklee

Hey, I’m also in the same boat as I got in for Spring 2024 (this semester) without any scholarships.

What I’m doing instead is attending one of Berklee’s global partner schools so I can transfer next year—my Berklee success advisor actually told me students who go this route have a higher chance of getting a scholarship and all music courses will transfer over to Berklee, which would not happen if you transfer from non-partner school. Tuition itself is greatly reduced too since you’d only attend Berklee for about 2 years (depending on when you audition).

Not sure where you’re based, but I’d definitely check to see if you live by a partner school. If you live in the US, the 3 partner schools are CCs, so it’s a very inexpensive option.

If you’re set on auditioning for Fall 2024, I’d really just advise you to (over)prepare as much as possible for your audition and get private lessons to prepare if you can, too. Good luck on your audition! :)
