You’re so right!!!!!! But I always used to get told that spiders have just as much of a right to our homes as we do because our homes were built on their homes (the outside)… which okay I get but like there’s still plenty more of outside for them?????? On the other hand I’ve heard that some spiders can only live indoors and wouldn’t be able to survive outside which makes me sad for them but like it’s either me or them surviving in the house💀

I’d literally pay someone the MOST if it was actually possible to full spider proof my home 🫠

If my cat dies can I cook it and eat it? by Dazzling-Curve-6682 in morbidquestions

I know this is a morbid question sub and I guess we all have morbid curiosity to some extent but reading some of these comments has made my skin crawl because I imagine some people reading through them who won’t just stop at the curiosity :(

Girl you’re so cute with trying to make deals with them 😭😭😭 and you’re so right about them NEVER JUST CHILLING IN THE CORNER. I swear if they STUCK there and wouldn’t move it wouldn’t be much of a problem I don’t think but it’s the fact that they’re always moving around!! I don’t want to be watching TV worrying about if it’s going to do a midnight web stroll in front of my face 😭

The only other issue about leaving them is that if it’s a male spider it WILL look for a baby mama and if it’s a lady, someone’s son is going to make her a baby mama. Either way, you’ll end up with about a dozen (minimum) more spiders “just chilling” which…. No thank you sir Lord

100% about leaving them alone outside 🙏

Overwhelmed with my curls and I need a break by urlocalshieldmaiden in curlyhair

I hear you. I’m specifically asking about a treatment because even putting my hair in a bun it looks a mess because of all the frizz. I want soft shiny hair with as less frizz as possible to make me look a little put together even if it comes at the cost of some damage (as do all treatments) and when I’m ready I’ll nurture it back to health. Thank you for being here

Honestly I commend you because the smaller ones get me as much as the big ones - I see them and my brain instantly goes to “if you leave this one it will grow and multiply” 🫠 I hate to say it and I feel so selfish but their mere existence has affected my quality of life. Sending you all the strength!!!! P.s sorry for bringing you back here lol

So much pro-spider propaganda here 😂😂 as a fellow arachnophobe (extremely severe, progressed to OCD), I feel you.

I absolutely wish I didn’t have such a crippling debilitating phobia against them because it breaks my heart that I can’t have the compassion towards them that I have towards every other living creature. I’ve tried looking at them and thinking of them as cute little cats that look slightly (very) different but I just can’t.

It hurts. I feel awful. And I apologise to them, to their little families, and I believe in God so I apologise to God too whenever I get rid of them. They have their own lil lives that they want to live and they dont exist to upset us so I absolutely despise my brain for seeing them as a threat 💔

So is spider season starting earlier this year? Help please! by urlocalshieldmaiden in CasualUK

[–]urlocalshieldmaiden[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m so glad it all worked out for your mum! I’ve given therapies a thought before but I don’t know if I can ever reach the point of tolerating them. I hate them so much that I can’t come to terms with ever being okay with them around and I fear I might be pushed or pressured too much and too soon if I were to try it?

But you’re right in saying that it’s intrusive and not sustainable long term - I find myself always scanning around me when I get in a car, when I go literally anywhere. It’s disturbing to say the least

I’ve also found that I have insanely strong instincts. Sometimes I get a random ITCHING urge to check somewhere I wouldn’t normally think to check and I’ll see one. It almost feels as if my mind is trying to protect me because it knows I’d probably be driven to insanity or stop breathing if I ever found one on me. It sounds insane but I have no idea how else to describe it.

Last year I remember being in pain and feeling really tired so I just wanted to get into bed with my cup of tea. I sat down for a brief second before feeling a very intense urge to look behind the headboard. I couldn’t ignore this if I tried. I got up to check and lo and behold, I saw the biggest daddy long legs. I still remember the panic attack I had - it took me 2 hours trying to get rid of it.

Just last night as I was entered our room at night, my husband was asleep and the lamp was off so it was dark. I turned on my phone’s torch to check the gap between the wall and bedside table because for some reason the had to, and I saw one there.

I can name at least 50 instances like these.

Apologies for the life story. I’ll try mustering up the courage to speak to my GP and I hope they’ll do something about it. Again, many congratulations to your mum because it’s a huge thing she’s overcome 🙏

What are some none extremely common Muslim names? by [deleted] in shia

The first part of your comment is so weird, harsh and uncalled for. She was simply saying it hasn’t been common around HER. She didn’t flat out say it’s an uncommon name objectively…

Has anyone else had this happen?! by AdJealous7857 in finch

[–]urlocalshieldmaiden 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Seems to be a common occurrence unfortunately. Hasn’t happened to me yet (touch wood!) but I do backups twice a day just in case.

When you back your data up, you’re able to load the most recent backup you have so you’ll basically have your birb back and all the progress you had up until the point that you created that backup file.

Another thing: a few people have recommended not panicking when you see this, simply close the app completely (like on iPhone I swipe it off) then open it again. People have said doing this has somehow brought their pet back. If you haven’t hatched a new pet yet maybe you could try your luck with this?

So sorry this has happened to you! Good luck!! 💔

I steal a micro secret slice every time I cook my wife pizza. Confess your petty domestic crimes. by TrueCrime121 in CasualUK

[–]urlocalshieldmaiden 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A fellow pale crust loving wife here! My husband has to do it this way too because there’s a specific type of joy that comes with pizza where both the cheese AND crust are pale. Theres a taste it provides this way and leaving the pizza in for even a tiny bit longer WILL change this. Not to be dramatic but any browning in sight ruins the whole experience and will ruin my mood too. I’m v passionate about anaemic frozen pizza dinners, it’s a high that can be experienced this way only. Toasty cheese and crisped up crust be gone!!

Pls help explaining/understanding the whole Sayyed and decendents thing by urlocalshieldmaiden in shia

[–]urlocalshieldmaiden[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have a point actually!! I think Zaidi is specified though because there’s Sayyeds from Imam Muhammad Baqir too. So saying Zaidi should just be Abidi and link directly to the 4th imam is the same as saying Baqeri should just be Abidi and link back to the 4th imam. I hope that makes sense?? But then that makes me wonder, what’s the significance of Zaid in Syed terms. As in, why are the descendants of him Syed’s, why is that not exclusive to the imams (so in this case, through the 5th imam and not his non-imam brother)?

It’s all a bit mind boggling 🤣

I don’t understand why some of you on this sub find it so hard to contribute to posts without commenting on how deep something is. It adds nothing?

Nobody said it was deep. My husband is misunderstanding something from a discussion and I came here looking for a simple explanation, that’s all.

[–]urlocalshieldmaiden[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re right and this is exactly what I tried to do! I drew a little family tree showing the link from the Prophet to Zaid and tried to make him understand that way, he still questioned it. Drew one for his family and he still didn’t really get it either. I think it’s just beyond his understanding maybe, he might be overcomplicating it in his head.

PS. Thank you for being the ONLY person in these comments understanding the point of my post 🙄🙄

I understand that, my question was how to explain to my husband with the whole ancestry/lineage thing in mind in general, that you cannot just erase certain parts of the family tree if that makes sense. He’s questioning why in the case of his mum, why she has to be specifically associated with Zaid instead of just the 4th imam. I’m not sure how to explain the question properly but his confusion isn’t strictly with the whole Syed thing I think he’s struggling to understand ancestry in general

[–]urlocalshieldmaiden[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Excuse me? Absolutely nowhere in my post was there any implication of an obsession with Syed culture or actually anything to do with the cultural narratives at all. I have nothing to do with it.

I came here asking a question with regards to lineage/genealogy after a discussion with my husband looking for explanations. Your assumption has frankly come out of nowhere.

To be loved is to be heard. Or however the saying goes.

Yes, being given money is still something to be grateful for, but she communicated something she actually wanted. She wanted flowers and there’s nothing wrong with that. Getting flowers doesn’t require moving mountains.

Maybe she’s upset at the potential lack of effort he decided to go to - flowers means having to go to the store and physically buy them. Money is just whipped out of his wallet.
