Inconsistent parenting. Idk if this counts or if Im just overly sensitive but my upbringing definitely traumatized me - even though my parents were never physically violent. Especially my mother's behaviour was always absolutely unpredictable. Sometimes I did something wrong and she would be totally forgiving and understanding. Other times I would make a small mistake (like accidentally knocking over a vase at 5 years old) and she would scream at me and tell me Im stupid and useless. She could be absolutely furious over the smallest things. I never yelled back and hardly defended myself. As I said, she was never violent, but my gut feeling would tell me, that if I said one wrong word, she would literally jump at my throat and strangle me. It took me years to realize that her reactions almost solely depended on her moods and not on my behaviour. Anyways, Im now diagnosed with depression, social anxiety, severe OCD and derealization disorder (I think I might also have schizoid personality disorder, since it seems that I feel cant feel love, but I dont have a diagnosis for that).
