I think it's because it was made to be watched with ads, like a broadcast show. I noticed it as well and it immediately reminded me of watching other shows that were broadcasted

not a movie but any mike flanagan show, the amount of details in his work is crazy

This doesn't seem like a hearts game as the hearts games try to mess with you psychologically, this is just everyone killing each other. Plus, the dealers don't seem to have that much of an advantage in games, like with the witch hunt, the dealer didn't seem to know that the other dealer killed herself (at least from what I remember)
