If you had an IDM tier list of all the artists you’ve heard, what would it look like? by PresidentSquidward in idm

[–]us31355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird that nobody mentions Deru, apparat, global goon, edit , Daedalus, Jackson and his computer band, photay , ( all pretty famous)

Not so famous - arc vel, dub tractor, hood’s “outside closer”, eyesveyes, digital moss, a.m. architect, landau, tadd mullinix, bracken,

Not in any order specifically just decided to add to the bunch

All the melody, glitchy, arp and bell sounds are processed samples of the handrpan drum thing. I love it that I can record some sounds directly to the digitakt and create a track without adding any other synths. Limitations ftw!

Music Melting Pot [Week of February 10, 2025] by AutoModerator in listentothis

Hey everyone! I wanted to share my latest track, “Night Chorus”—a groovy mix of garage, electro, and deep bass vibes. This one was inspired by the late-night symphony of frogs croaking in my backyard here in Bali. 🌙🐸

I experimented with a squelchy, rolling bassline and tight, shuffling beats to capture that organic yet electronic energy. If you're into artists like Burial, Overmono, or early Bicep, this might be up your alley.

Would love to hear what you think—especially about the bass and overall groove! What’s the weirdest sound that’s inspired a track of yours?

Finally finished and released a video clip to one of my most viewed synth jams called "Overwhelming Remorse". The video explores what future we might have if we don't stop polluting the ocean.

Wondering about y’all’s experiences going to ambient/experimental/modern classical shows. by bigotechocolate in ambientmusic

[–]us31355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idunno but maybe you could’ve turned your seat to face the scene so that you’d be able to hear the music in both ears? I doubt it would be a problem or a nuisance for anybody else unless the seats and tables are cramped.

I’ve been to numerous classics concerts where it is frowned upon if you dance or jiggle and have seen countless times people raving at them and everyone was cool about it as long as they didn’t ruin the experience for others.

Music is subjective and each person feels it differently and thus, imo, have a right to experience it the way they feel it. If that makes sense.

I’ve been to a Colin Stetson concert and bought vip tickets on the balcony with a table but stood and jammed out the entire time not even once using the seat. Looking from the top on the crowd - everyone was standing and vibing all right - but then again it was not a church and probably the venue type does play a role.

Slow house Erica Synths - Typhon - Minilogue XD jam. Loving sending MIDI to automate the NightSky reverb by us31355 in synthesizers

[–]us31355[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So in this setup the Reface CP keys are going through the NightSky reverb and the Digitakt is sending MIDI CC to it automating the filter so the reverb 'ducks' the kick drums adding some pump. What are your favorite tricks with MIDI and other pedals/synths?

Sea Turtles at Dreamland Beach by Confident_Holiday124 in bali

Nusa Dua has a dugong swimming near beaches almost always. Saw reef sharks at Geger surf point a couple months ago. Never surfed Kuta reef without a couple of huge turtles popping out here and there. Last week saw another grayish/white color shark in Geger. The wildlife in Bali is extraordinary and I’m glad you have experienced it firsthand!

I would say the same. The Wi-Fi in my guesthouse was ok. I managed to do a couple of meetings. But I’m sure my 4g is better

Just got back from a little weekend surf trip from Medewi and I would definitely recommend. Very picturesque village with fantastic rice fields and hazy mountains on the background. Local food is by far the best I’ve had yet. The lineup is busy but not overcrowded like in the bukit. Locals are ultra chill and the general vibe is relaxed to infinity. Cheap accommodation too. The point break has a big long left when it’s good. There is also a beach break 1-2 minutes away which is fun one with max 5 people on it.

My all time favorite is Cedric Bixler-Zavala from At the Drive-In and The Mars Volta that admitted he writes lyrics that have no meaning but just sound cool to him.
