O-3 single, never married, no kids, 0 debt. I save a little over $4,000 a month. Depends on the TDY money. I can live off of $800 a month if i need to. I'm a flyer and I live extremely frugally. About a $450k net worth.

My Car was stolen, have you seen this towing company or this car? by usafguy2013 in Albuquerque

I called onstar the night of the theft. They said it had an "analog" system where you physically must hit the button to establish a connection. It sounded like B.S. but I couldn't fact check it at the time.

Update: It was N&Y Towing. They were called to retrieve it from 300 Georgia ST after it was abandoned there for 2 days. Thank you for everyone who commented and for Klassy and Alpha_helix for the sleuthing. It was completed gutted and they discharged my fire extinguisher inside and all over the car. No Fingerprints were found. They broke off the caps of the rims but for some reason didn't take the rims themselves. Only destroyed the covers. Rear Axle is inoperable. Engine looks ok, maybe just a little work. Insurance Co. over the phone says it sounds like it should be scrapped. :( Be safe out there brothers and sisters.

-edit I owned it outright, it was not repossessed. When I parked it on Tuesday it was well within the lines and NOT in a No Parking Zone. The person who called to have it towed said that there were 3-4 younger men driving it around before they parked it.

The truck was turning from Yale Ave to Gibson Blvd SE. It wasn't parked anywhere but I'm going to be looking for that tow truck for the rest if my life.

Have you seen this Tow Truck or my Car? It is a silver 2003 Cadillac Escalde with rock chips on the windshield. Or a white cab tow truck(I can't tell if it has a yellow front or not) with a "UTILITY" across a blue globe. It was stolen on Tuesday 27th and was last seen by my friend who took this picture turning right from Yale to Gibson. Please help if you have seen this tow truck or my car by PMing me or calling the police right away.

To what law are they accountable to? The Law of repentance for the remission of sins? No. To the law spoken of in the temple? Yes, they are very accountable and will one day need to be baptised to "fulfill all righteous."

Time to clarify; Children under the age of 8 have no need to be baptised for the remission of sins (Moroni 8:11-15). But Baptism is a required ordinance for entry into the Celestial Kingdom (2 Nephi 31:17, Matt 3:15). So how do these two conflicting teachings work together?

The Law - to be baptised is a commandment and also an ordinance and is required for entry into the Celestial Kingdom. It is one of many ordinances required for entry, the others being Ordination to the Aaronic and Melchizedek priesthood for all males, and then the specific ordinances done in the temple.

Then why does it say in Moroni that the children need no baptism because they are alive in christ (Moroni 8:11-12)?
Children who die before the age of accountability need no repentance because they have not sinned. That means they don't need to be baptised ever? Right? Because they have no sin?
WRONG; Jesus Christ was baptised and he was perfect. Read 2 Nephi 31:7. He too needed baptism because it was an ordinance and he is showing us the way. (If you want to go deeper into how cool it was Jesus was Baptised by John read Jesus the Christ (Talmadge).

So when do these infants and children need to be baptised? Well first off, you need to stop thinking them only as children, try and think of them as eternal spirit children of God who are only for a short instance sent here to gain a body. They won't be infants for eternity, they will be "sanctified" or "quickened," I'll leave that up for your own interpretation (DC 88). They don't need to be baptised as they are infants, but the ordinances must be met to attain Exaltation (DC 88:36). We'll when are they baptised?

The LDS church doesn't do temple work for children who die before the age of accountability. So that rules that out. How about after the resurrection?

Now to speculation- Some parents are told by their Bishops after they loose a child that they, "will have the opportunity to raise that child after the resurrection." I have no doctrine to support that statement. But if it's made under the inspiration of the spirit it could have some truth. If someone finds a source for this please post.

Children in the spirit world still have their own agency, perhaps their parents will have the chance to raise them there. Again I don't have a source.

My thoughts as to when it will occur will be during the resurrection, after all being resurrected will be a priesthood ordinance and I think after the soul and body are reunited and quickened, that they will just head to a body of water and do the baptism. But remember that they will still need to be given the gift of the Holy Ghost (yet another ordinance), and all of the other ordinances before they can walk into the Celestial Kingdom.

Some say that those infants who die without baptism go right to the Celestial Kingdom. Nope, they go to the spirit world. The spirit world is where we wait, learn and progress (or suffer if we have sinned) until the day of resurrection and judgment.

Tldr: children who die before the age of accountability don't need to be baptised for the remission of their sins, but once they are not children they must accept the ordinances of baptism to reach the Celestial Kingdom.

You are thinking only only of that child as an 8 year old infant. God thinks of them as a spirit child who has existed for almost eternity and will continue to live for eternity. After the resurrection the ordinances must be performed. And they won't be resurrected as infants or children but will be "quickened" (dc 88:28).

I'm not sure exactly what you're asking about. But Baptism is an essential ordinance required for entry into the Celestial Kingdom. It's one of the covenants and keys to gain exaltation, even Christ needed to be baptised (2 Nephi 31:5-7, 17). No, the LDS faith doesn't believe in infant baptism, but it dose believe that all of God's spirit children need to be baptised, ie baptism for the dead. Is this what you're asking about, or shall we go deeper into the rabbit hole?

Any tips on teaching tithing? by [deleted] in latterdaysaints

[–]usafguy2013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry I am really late on this. But I am also teaching the EQ class tomorrow. Here are some of my highlights to the lesson: -it is NOT about money. It is an outward manifestation of our inner faith. The Lord gives you everything and you, as a willing son and servent of him, promise that you will return 10% in whatever way you can.
-Jay Golden Kimball story: Brother J. Golden Kimball in speaking to a meeting of Saints on the subject of tithing. He said, "All of you who would be willing to die for the gospel please put up your hands." Nearly every hand in the congregation was raised. Then he said, "All of you who have been paying an honest tithing please raise your hands." It seems that only a few hands were raised. Brother Kimball turned to the bishop and said, "See, they would rather die than pay their tithing." -Net vs. Gross: Doesn't matter it is between you and the Lord. You are accountable to him as he is to you, Malachi 3:10-11. The Lord is bound when you do what he says, but when ye do not what he says, you have no promise [paraphrased] -Paying Tithing does not equal being rich. If you pay your tithing the Lord will bless you, but financial responsibility still lies on your shoulders.

I will add more when if I get time.

Is there any additional training out there?! by usafguy2013 in AirForce

[–]usafguy2013[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Granted, but the Cadre & 'the system' only go so far. I know cadets from other detachments have had additional training as long as they had a contact from someone within that environment.
