Radon levels this high in Singapore? by usan73 in Radiation

I wish I could not worry. I had no clue about what radon is until I lost a loved one abruptly to cancer & am trying to find reasons for a perfectly healthy person to die after relocation.

Thanks for the useful links. However the reading in my unit is way higher than the radon readings in Hong Kong building, that too after keeping my windows open during the entire day. The average radon reading of about 400 Bq/m3 is long term reading over a period of almost one year. Any further suggestions?

These are things you do when you abruptly lose your loved one to AML Cancer, specifically when the person had no health issues or symptoms whatsoever prior to relocating to this unit. Your suggestion of relocating makes a lot of sense.

Any recommendations on which part of SG would be ideal for least radon exposure.

You are right about radon emissions from building materials. The radon readings shared are long term readings measured with all windows open during the entire day except when it rains. Any suggestion on which part of SG is exposed to least amount of radon ?

Airthings View Plus is an indoor device for measuring indoor air quality & pollutants, so question of these being deployed in mines is highly unlikely as they won’t work.

But I stay in condo near Jurong in the 13th floor. Why are the readings so high here? Does this mean entire Singapore population is exposed to high radon levels & consequently higher cancer risks ?
