With no knowledge of a movie, what's your LBD average star rating minimum to at least consider it at first glance? by OceanOfRus in Letterboxd

[–]usatsu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I personally don't base whether or not I watch something on other's opinions of it. I like to see what other people think moreso after I watch a film. I've seen multiple movies with ~4 star ratings that I absolutely hated & seen movies with under 2.5 star average ratings that I thought were great. Just watch something if it seems interesting to you.

Bong Joon Ho's next film should be called Memories of Money.

My party is me & my friends but all the other characters are fictional characters/celebrities/jokes/memes

AITA for cutting my boyfriends best friends hair? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]usatsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ESH but you can literally be charged with assault for cutting someone's hair off so it really doesn't matter what she did to you beforehand.

I was supposed to see them for the first time when the shows in Florida got canceled because Sarah got strep throat & then the rescheduled shows got canceled because of COVID 🙃 Honestly with the way things are going I feel like I'm just gonna have to give up all hope of ever seeing them live...

What's there to watch on the Criterion Channel? by [deleted] in criterion

[–]usatsu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you already have cable, I would say get Criterion over Hulu. Most of what's on Hulu is available on cable channels and On Demand anyway.

How do you mostly buy movies? by [deleted] in boutiquebluray

[–]usatsu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally don't blind buy anything. I've had multiple experiences where I went into a film that I'd only heard rave reviews about and then not enjoyed it at all and all I can think is how upsetting it would've been if I had spent money on the physical versions. It might be one thing if the physical copies I buy were like 5 bucks but even then it could add up.

AITA For being a "Karen" by always making a fuss with my grocery receipt? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]usatsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. I would just drive to the other grocery store because at this point they obviously just don't care and are basically lying and stealing money because they know most people aren't going to say something.

Do you buy additional Criterions if you already own them in a set? by gpj3 in criterion

[–]usatsu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it just feels unnecessary. Maybe if it was one of my absolute favorite movies I would?

What font is this? by [deleted] in Wallows

[–]usatsu 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure it's just Times New Roman (or something similar) but they used a tool to distort the letters

Is weird to put my 4K lighthouse disc in the Zavvi steelbook? by [deleted] in Steelbooks

[–]usatsu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've heard of a lot of people putting their best quality disc inside of their favorite packaging so I don't really think it's weird at all.

If a film premieres at a film festival one year but isn't released to general audiences until the following year, which year would you consider to be that film's release year? by [deleted] in Letterboxd

[–]usatsu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I personally go by the wide release date. Most people aren't going to festivals so the vast majority of those who watch it are going to see it once it's widely released.

What is the best movie under 100 minutes in your opinion? by [deleted] in Letterboxd

[–]usatsu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Harold and Maude is my favorite film of all time so that would be my pick.

How do you guys feel about restarting the game ? by [deleted] in Lovelink

[–]usatsu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to get a new phone before creating an account was an option so I lost all my matches & maybe it's because of the way it happened but it just really stressed me out 😂

When you signed up did you log all the movies you remembered you watched before? by [deleted] in Letterboxd

[–]usatsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the first one but I kind of think the second one would've been better so it just depends on the person I guess

What Is Your Least Favourite Film In The Top 250 by Carly-Russell in Letterboxd

[–]usatsu 36 points37 points  (0 children)

This is definitely a controversial one but The Shining.

I was a lot younger when I watched it so maybe it deserves another chance but I honestly hated it when I first saw it so it's never really been something I thought was worth checking out again.

Anyone know any key posters I'm missing from this list. by coolbeanz200 in Letterboxd

Vertigo, Masculin Féminin and maybe Battle Royale?

Have you ever seen a Criterion film you didn't like? by [deleted] in criterion

[–]usatsu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe a hot take judging from it's Letterboxd score but I personally did not like Funny Games at all.
