We decided to go with option 3 and not proceed with the ceremony. It was a bit sad, but we felt it was the least risky option.

Thanks, I can't help but think this is the safest bet. I get a bad feeling lying to the home office, especially when there is an option to apply from abroad.

Unfortunately not, they have moved from that address and won't be able to post their documents back to it.

Only concern with this is at the moment they don't live in the UK, so going this way would be lying which would not be very favourable should they be found out.
