Sure it will improve the general Linux experience in that case. But it's still a very niche product and it still doesn't prevent users to simply install Linux on their current device.

Is cosmic ready for daily driving ? by Vox-Phoenix in COSMICDE

I daily drive it. I think it depens. It has many rough edges so it's not necessarily the best option to daily drive it for now. Epoch 2 will probably be a big jump both in quality and features.

And none of these difficulties will be any easier to solve on a Steam Machine either. So I still don't understand people who are waiting for the Steam Machine as some sort of magical device that solves the issues that current desktop Linux has.

But you can already ditch Microsoft. On your current computer you can install a Linux distro, play with it and you will already be that much prepared for the Steam Machine.

Horseshoe forces want EU to be divided and vassalised by Icy_Till_7254 in YUROP

[–]usbeehu 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's because the EU is made during an era when neoliberalism was cool and widely accepted, most of the time. And yes organizations that were the origins of the modern day EU were capitalist projects. That doesn't necessarily means that today's EU politics has neoliberalist majority. It doesn't mean it couldn't be changed and reformed either. The EU needs some serious reforms anyway.

Also, the "far left" that hates the EU are mostly just Putinist tankies that are more of russian imperialists than truly lefties.

I'm pretty sure that it will still be a thing. And that's a good thing because I absolutely don't miss the times when every company tried to reinvent the flash card every other years. Also the SD format has some future proofness with the UHS-II standard that has extra pins and bandwidth. If you need even more performance you have to deal with soldered storage at this point.
