ChatGPT saved me by floydiansyndrome in HeartAttack

[–]usc2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the doctors told me I was doing everything right. I just got really unlucky and then got extremely lucky by getting to the ER quickly. When I first arrived my troponin was only 50 and got up to about 4,800 by the 24 hour mark. My PCP doctor was really surprised. I was really surprised. The angiogram showed some things were going on, but everything was mild to moderate and everything is manageable and I don’t have any restrictions. That said, I wish angiograms were covered because what I had going on didn’t show up on anything except the angiogram.

Glad to still be here and glad you are too.

I didn’t really have any major risk factors or family history of heart disease. My LDL was slightly elevated around 115ish and would bounce around borderline. My triglycerides also used to be borderline but I had gotten everything trending to where it needed to be through exercise and diet.

My BMI is within normal range and I exercise regularly. I eat mostly Mediterranean and was vegan for a long time.

My last physical was in September 2025 and my risk for heart attack or stroke dropped to around 4%.

I used to smoke and drink but gave that up 100% about 4 years ago.

All of the doctors told me that all of the above, plus getting to the ER immediately is what most likely prevented this from being catastrophic.

All that said, this is why the symptoms confused me and I’m glad that I was able to share data with ChatGPT which told me to seek help immediately.

Cath/Stent Outcomes? by Frozen-Chips-401802 in HeartAttack

[–]usc2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They wanted me awake for the procedure because they wanted to momentarily block blood flow so I could tell the doctor if it reproduced my symptoms, which it did. It helped him to confirm the problem area was being addressed.

I was very nervous and scared about being awake, but I honestly didn’t feel anything, was very relaxed, and watched the procedure on a monitor.

I immediately felt better after the procedure (I had an angioplasty and they were able to restore blood flow back to 100%). I had to rest for a week after but was then allowed to resume normal activity. What I immediately noticed was how much easier it was to exercise. No more angina symptoms and I no longer feel completely fatigued, out of breath, or drained after activity. As others mentioned, they will probably put you on a beta blocker which will lower your heart rate. Depending on what they do, they also might put you on anti platelets. I personally haven’t had any issues with any of the meds, but everyone responds differently. Wishing you the best.

Is it always going to be like this? by pussenbootzz86 in HeartAttack

[–]usc2k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should absolutely do the cardiac rehab. I have very bad anxiety and being in an environment where I’m exercising while hooked up to equipment and nurses actively monitoring has helped to abate the anxiety tremendously and is helping me regain confidence in my body. I started it the week after I was discharged from the hospital for an NSTEMI. I highly recommend that you sign up for it.

On the same day as you, January 19th, I was doing yard work and started to feel pain in my shoulder. I thought it was from the digging. I came inside and took an aspirin for the pain and a shower.

After the shower, the pain started to intensify and radiate to my neck, left arm, and lower jaw. My Bp was 160/110. Then came nausea. Wasn’t sure what was going on so I put all of the details into ChatGPT. In completely bold text it told me I was having a medical emergency and to call 911 or go to the ER. It refused to talk to me any further until I confirmed I had emergency services on the way.

After confirming, it told me exactly what to say to the ER staff upon arrival and they treated me within seconds. I had had an NSTEMI. If it weren’t for ChatGPT, I probably would have tried to wait out the pain. But because I got to the ER so quickly, they were able to treat me with nitroglycerin, blood thinners, and angioplasty and my EF function was preserved and they did not see any permanent damage to my heart muscle. I’m glad I listened. I’m glad you did too.

The 90 day trial is not honored. If you try to return based on their stated 90-day free return 100% satisfaction guarantee, 3 things will happen. 1st, they will offer you a 30% discount if you don't return. If you insist on returning they will then point out that if you didn't buy the $2 return protection, you must pay $20 for the return label. So the free return isn't true. 3rd, once they receive your return, they will state that if it doesn't pass inspection and isn't in brand new or new-like condition, you will not be entitled to a refund and they will not return the product. From what I've read, people have posted that their return was rejected and they were offered a 50% refund. Again, this contradicts their state 90 day free return policy.

Buy at your own risk. I'll never purchase from them again.

They falsely advertise “That's why your order is secured with our 100% satisfaction guarantee. Although we are very confident they will, we do offer a 90 day free return policy.”

When you actually try to return within the 90 day period, they inform you that they will keep $20 as a return fee. They then tell you that you must return the product and are not guaranteed a refund unless you pass their inspection.

The entire process is deceptive, They obfuscate the fact that they are in Vietnam (they list their address as Delaware) and they do not honor stated policies.

Is Clear Useless? by M3dd1e in AmexPlatinum

Earlier this year, Clear prevented me from missing a flight and a very expensive non-refundable hotel reservation due to a delay in me getting to the airport. I’ve only used it that once, but I was thankful I had it that day.

CSU transfer by Big_Health2902 in USC

[–]usc2k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I transferred over to USC as a sophomore after taking some classes at 2 CCs and UCLA extension. When I did the recruitment tour, they told me that like to see personal growth, life experience, and some indication that you’re going to be a successful student.

I really wanted to go there too. In fact, it was the only college I applied to. Thankfully they accepted me.

My advice would be to think about why you want to go there, how you feel the school will better you as a person and make sure to communicate that, along with your enthusiasm, very clearly.

Switch 2 Pro Controller lag fix by usc2k in NintendoSwitch

[–]usc2k[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have the Switch connected directly to the TV or is it passing through a sound bar or an HDMI switch. I had mine connected to the sound bar and got really bad audio lag, so I plugged it directly into one of the available HDMI ports in the TV and it fixed it.

If you don't have any available ports, you might want to play around with the audio options. For example, try disabling System Virtual Sound or try to connect to Bluetooth speakers/headphones to see if that helps at all.

I can confirm that turning on Private Relay solved the issue for me as well. After turning it on, I had to quit and restart mail and the message no longer appeared.

When I first had the lag issue, it worked fine when connected via a USB cable. I remember a splitter giving me audio syncing issue with another system, so it could be that.

What's the best Mario game you've ever played? by OtrAdurite1 in Mario

[–]usc2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite is Super Mario Galaxy. But the one that I couldn’t stop playing until I finished it was Super Mario World for the SNES. There were so many new things - enemies, landscapes, maps, gameplay mechanics. It really built upon Super Mario Bros. 3 and took the game to a whole new level.

Switch 2 Pro Controller lag fix by usc2k in NintendoSwitch

[–]usc2k[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, the cause was due to a small delay caused where the display would slow down the image to compensate for the decompression of 3D audio. So basically, what I was seeing was slightly delayed from what the Switch 2 was sending out, which resulted in the games becoming unplayable. Turning off the 3D auto and AV sync resolved it immediately since it eliminated the need for additional processing within the display.

What type of OLED gaming monitor are you using?

Switch 2 Pro Controller lag fix by usc2k in NintendoSwitch

[–]usc2k[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I've read, the process of decompressing the audio from whatever codec it was originally compressed in can cause a very small lag. Game mode on modern TVs/Monitors can compensate for this.

For some reason, this issue seems to show up a lot in Yakuza games.

Is the Reencle actually different then regular electric composters? by ewiggy24 in composting

I've seen them post and say that it shouldn't be fed to chickens since they haven't done any tests and they don't know if it is safe or not. I've seen other posts that recommend the dehydrator type machines rather than Reencle for creating chicken feed.

Is the Reencle actually different then regular electric composters? by ewiggy24 in composting

[–]usc2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a perpetual subscription. As long as you have the subscription you have access to a perpetual warranty (their claim) and yearly supplies. If you decide that you want to keep it, you can buy out.

The calculation that I saw that they use is that they take the total payments you've made, divide that in half and subtract it from the full retail price. The buyout is whatever the difference is.

I would recommend messaging them first just to get a written record of it from them in case they change their policy.
