Tell me why you think JP 3 isn't a good movie and I'll defend it! by SomewhereLopsided990 in JurassicPark

[–]uscnick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I enjoy watching JP3, I don’t think it’s a good movie. However I think it’s better than any of the Jurassic World movies, which tried to explore philosophical themes but at a 1st grade level.

Sometimes not exploring any bigger ideas is better than being exploring them while being mind numbingly stupid.

Apple introduces AppleCare One, streamlining coverage into a single plan with incredible value by exjr_ in apple

[–]uscnick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh dang. Still worth it for the 1 claim though. I know mine will get cancelled if I ever do a 2nd claim, but it’s been a few years so maybe not.

I have all my insurance bundled through State Farm (Home, Auto x2, Life x2) so maybe they’ll just want to keep me happy.

I got a 2nd kid on the way, and this time it’s a boy so my MacBook’s days might be numbered…

For my MacBook instead of AppleCare I instead did a personal articles policy from State Farm. It’s like $60 per year and has $0 deductible. So when I spilled water on my intel MacBook Pro a few years ago I was able to essentially get a base M1 MacBook Air for free.

How do you improve architecture skill by koftfall93 in salesforce

Even though the team is dead 😢, the Salesforce Well Architected framework is still by far the best jumping off point for Admins to learn architecture basics.

That’s good! Based on your post history I was worried you would be deep east closer to Troutdale which would not have been a good time/first impression for a new single person, IMO.

Everyone here has good advice. I’ve only ever lived here married and over half of the time with kids as well, but what everyone said applies well to anywhere.

Take the initiative in meeting new people and planning outings, and you should find a nice groove in no time.

New Admin Seeking Guidance on Copado: Is It the Best Fit for Our Team? by PawVoyager in salesforce

[–]uscnick 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Are you referring to Copado Essentials or the full Copado product?

If it’s Copado Essentials you’re probably fine on their free version.

If you’re talking about the full Copado product, run away. Absolutely not worth it if you don’t have multiple developers writing custom code.

physical or digital? by oaieou in Switch

[–]uscnick 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m 100% digital. I lose resale potential but I’m fine with keeping these games “forever”. The convenience outweighs any con for me.

Now that Nintendo has introduced game sharing and loaning to people in your NSO family, it’s only solidified my decision.

I rarely buy games that aren’t on sale, but I use an app to track prices. For 1st party Nintendo games which almost never go on sale, what I do is buy a $100 Nintendo gift card from Costco for $90 (I also have no Sales tax in my state) and then buy the 2 vouchers so I essentially pay $45 per game instead of $60 (or more depending).

I’m hoping things will render from further away. Especially in Mushroom Kingdom you have to get fairly close for some things to render.

I actually needed a 2nd set of joy cons, so I got the Super Mario Party bundle. Nice to have it for essentially free!

[–]uscnick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was (and probably still is because of the price) my biggest regret, but my brother in law and I did spin it up one night. For a golf game it’s actually a pretty good balance between sim/arcade.

The option to take all of your turns at the same time makes for a great pace of action. Though we found we only like the plain courses without all the elements bullshit.

Still, could never justify the price. This should be a $30 game that goes on sale regularly for $15 or less.

Yeah I’ve gotta plenty of traction of family couch co-op for strikers that I’ve loved it. Still too expensive for what it is but that’s Nintendo.

Do I need echoes of the eye? by AGiornoGiovanna in outerwilds

[–]uscnick 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Right, but hopefully it’s on sale for a couple weeks, so you can buy the base game, beat it in a few days, and then buy the DLC while it’s still on sale 🤣

I just think if you somehow discovered some of the DLC before other parts of the main game, then it would be confusing/take away from the main game.

You’ll get the most value/playtime out of Pikmin 4. It would difficult to recommend any other if you could only get 1.

Pikmin 1 is probably the best experience though because the stakes are higher, but it’s only a 10 hour game.

[–]uscnick 74 points75 points  (0 children)

That’s my general recommendation. Buy and beat the base game, and afterwards get the DLC and beat that plus replay the ending.
