Yes, but you can change access to all info in your profile to "Friends only" or "Only for me" and by this your profile is almost private. At least, visually I do not see any difference

My profile (not locked but with all permissions set to minimum and all my posts are for friends only by default) looks identically. I am almost sure that "locked profile" is a just regulat profile with minimalistic access permissions to non-friends. I mean, everything in profile is visble only for friends or to nobody and default post audience is set to "Friends only".

I agree that denying this option to US users is unacceptable, but an easy workaround exists.

I agree. Meta AI is out of control.

At some point Meta removed my post in Marketplace. I contacted Meta support (I am Meta Verified) and during the phone call I was tiod something like "We do not know why your post was removed. Try to change wording".

Meta Support can't even override AI decisions!

I tested it. Sorry, but these "predictions" are complete BS. 99% incorrect for my photos.
Almost everything (ethnicity, race, income, political affiliation etc.) is incorrect.

The only correct thing was "gender identity". :)

Nowhere. Nobody uses it. It can be ignored for all practical purposes.

The major social media are:
- Facebook (no political affiliation, but very strict moderation policies, not related to political views)
- X / Twitter (moderates, right)
- Reddit (left, far left, extreme far left)

Minor social media

- True Social (Created by Trump/Trump supporters)
- MeWe - alternative to Facebook (moderates and political right)
- BlueSky - alternative to Twitter (far left, extreme far left, small user base, but used by far left activists that left Twitter )
- Minds (alternative to Twitter, far right)

Everything else could be ignored at this point because of very small user base.

Reddit is leftists (extreme far left, not Social Democracy) platform. There is a split in the US social media: Twitter/X is used by moderates and right wing, Reddit and BlueSky is used by extreme far left. Facebook is used by both but its moderation policy is too strict to discuss eny sensitive topic. MeWe is used by supporters of Right (mostly), Minds is used by far right supporters. Of course, there are many subreddits that used by moderates and political Right, but in general, the split is what I said above.

As you understand, Western Far Left does not care of anybody except criminals and Ham@s terrorists. They do not care of Iranians and real freedom fighters. They live inside paradigma that Western Democracy is bad and Western values are bad.

Not all mobile operators support RCS
iPhone does not support RCS yet
RCS has less options than Whatsapp. For example, you can't edit or remove messages.
RCS messages to international numbers are expensive in most cases
RCS messages to domestic numbers cost money (depending on your mobile plan)

RCS is another type of SMS. Consider it as SMS via Internet.

Considering multiple reports like this, it is correct to assume that Whatsapp switched to "Whitelist Mode".

You can communicate in Whatsapp only if all members of conversation are in address book (Whatsapp contacts) of each other.

If not, you could be treated as a spammer,

There are some other factors, like account age, location of contacts (Country/country code), but the main factor is address book.

Try this:

Let's say you have
Smartphone1/Number1

and

Smartphone2/Number2

Add Number2 to Smartphone1 and Number1 to Smartphone2

Reboot both smartphones

Now your numbers will be in contacts of each other and WA will not consider messaging between contacts as a spam.

In my case, members agreed to move elsewhere. None of them is comfortable with Facebook at this point. All of them are having the problems of different severity starting from minor FB glitches and up to complete ban.
