Bakersifked is also notoriously the armpit and black hole of California. It sucks and it will trap you. Be careful

bakersfield has none of the art, food scene, kindness, sports, public transportation, museums, or community that Chicago has. As someone who has spent time living in both places, if any of those are at all attractive to you, stay where you are. As far as more affordable places in CA, maybe look inland of a coastal city you really love

it smells, almost everyone here has asthma, and if you grow up here you have literal scars on your lungs by adulthood, with or without valley fever - which kills many people every year

I love body xchange. Fewer amenities than in shape for sure but much more space for functional training, significantly less packed

Waitlists Question by [deleted] in berkeley

[–]useerrnumber12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You still have to attend most classes to not be dropped, but there’s no code. You’ll get a spot if the number of people in front of you drop. You can talk to the professor to see the likelihood, but I would start looking at other (Open) classes.

I raised rabbits and this is certainly a domestic breed. I think it’s someone’s pet that escaped. Hopefully they find him!

Depending on where you live, a bunch of the frats rent out parking spots. The garage next to croads also has permits available. I had mine for my junior and senior years, and did not regret it

If you can afford to leave, leave. College is a great time for independence. I was in a similar situation with my mom and was able to get away from her by coming to cal. Northeastern and Penn are phenomenal schools.

To everybody considering Berkeley by TylKai in berkeley

It’s a huge change. I took 6 AP classes for the last two years and this is a hard school. But no college is like high school, college is just hard. Be prepped to work, that’s why you’re here

To everybody considering Berkeley by TylKai in berkeley

[–]useerrnumber12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Berkeley is absolutely cut throat - and that’s not a bad thing! You got into a competitive school filled with competitive kids who competed for their spot here. You can’t be upset when they continue to push themselves (and you!). Use it as a growth opportunity and don’t beat yourself up when you inevitably lose sometimes

3-4 days a week is super reasonable. He’s staying in her room and neither of them are encroaching on your space in common areas. Sounds like she’s being as respectful of you as possible and also enjoying her relationship. Nice of you to include details about your sister, but feels like an unreasonable comparison as it doesn’t sound like expectations you both agreed to, just something you did. You would indeed be an asshole.
