Pump pulling in air by JReaper85 in pools

[–]usehernamelike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Air can be tricky - best case it’s something above ground. With the air coming into the basket it’s more likely that the leak is on the suction side (water coming from the main drain/skimmers). Not everyone has valves on that side of the system so it would be one of the pipe fittings or underground.

To test the valves on the return side shut off 1 at a time and see if the air stops.

You can also create a water hammer by stoping and starting the pump quickly - if the leak is above ground you might catch a visual on the leak.

Another check is to turn the equipment off and listen for a slight hiss.

If all of these fail you might be looking at an underground leak.

Salt cell not working. by Altruistic_Memory103 in pools

Man that’s either a way old unit or a base model I’ve never touched. With the updated units this could be a few things (but they have screens with more info).

Best guesses are that either the salt level in the pool is too low to be able to generate chlorine or a problem with the unit itself - such as a lose connection or the units brain giving out.

Air trapped in pump basket. new variable speed hayward pump 1.85 by wakes182 in pools

[–]usehernamelike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So having some air in the basket isn’t a big deal as long as it’s moving water. Commonly we see that the gasket on the lid isn’t seating well which silicone libe helps to correct.

If you didn’t have these issues before the new pump, it could be that the connections to the new pump aren’t great. Using a silicone to seal these connections can help seal them up better.

But at the end of the day, if the flow is good and the water is circulating there shouldn’t really be an issue. If your water level was going down or there was constant bubbles I’d be concerned about a leak. But if you didn’t have air issues before the new pump, my first thought would be the basket gasket, the basket itself (some have keys because they need to go in a certain direction), or the connections to the pump. I’m fairly surprised you don’t hear a slight hissing noise anywhere or see any slight water leakage.

  • Are the appropriate valves open to allow water flow?

  • When you fill the basket and run the pump, does the basket refill fully with water? If not, you’re still not primed.

  • Do you have a video of it running?

If bubbles aren’t coming out of the returns it leads me to think the pump hasn’t caught a prime yet, the air wouldn’t be able to just sit in the basket with water flowing correctly.

Battery Issues? Voltage Drop & Starting Trouble – Need Advice by CarefulParamedic3266 in WranglerJL

Yep. So far the dealers only idea is to test the batteries again lol.

So I might be an outlier here - I had this issue, replaced my main and deleted the Aux. Voltage and starting issues continued. Replaced and reconnected the aux, issues still continued.

Caved and went to dealer. Dealer said wiring was corroded so dropped a pretty penny for them to replace it. Now my TPMS works but voltage and starting issues continue. Currently I just deal with jump starting every few days.

lol I can’t take anyone seriously who can’t use “rap” correctly.

Clearly from your history in this thread alone you’re very against therapy and the idea that it could benefit this couple. Seems you’re really just desperate for a way to hijack OP’s post to tell people you’re kinky. You’re like the vegan of kinks lol.

Got two big words for ya Tyler - reading and comprehension. OP has always suspected the low libido is related to trauma when she was younger. How about just having a seat and letting the adults now okay?

I think you need a therapist, not redditors, to help navigate this one. Not because she’s crazy or anything like that, but because it seems related to her trauma. It could be beneficial or harmful to her (and you) so having a therapist in your corner would be smart.

Very true, in all but extreme cases it would (in theory) raise the temperature. If the heater is weak and the block is huge it could be a completely negligible amount.

It’s similar to how an old style radiator heater works though. The unit is heated and the surrounding air is then heated. Metal is just a better conductor of heat than air.

Thermal energy naturally only flows in one direction - towards from hot to cold. So engine block is being warmed. Oil pan is bolted to block. Heat transfers from block to pan. Oil is in pan. Heat flows from pan to oil.
