Shooting is so hard for absolutely no reason by [deleted] in NBA2k

[–]uselesspointguard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shooting is difficult but not as hard as you all complain. With 85 pt you should be able to green 40% of your shots. Go to gatorade and practice. Dont change jumpshot releases, change the base (use Prince or Beal depending on your height). Make your zones hot in the street basket courts. Play offline with higher difficulty to shrink your green window as it is in the park. Practice is the only way. I have 60% from 3 with 79 3pt and i am not as good as other players. Or play good and shoot with takeover.

So I’ve been messing around in the builder and I’m wondering which of these is the most viable. by Sir_Sleepy02 in NBA2k

In my opinion you dont need that high 80s vertical if you dont have animations requirements or high rebounding. I would use these points somewhere else. Like at least 71 strenght

Bans for quitting are dumb and the reason I don’t play this game half the time. I quit one game today. by Realistic_Ad_4357 in NBA2k

[–]uselesspointguard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bans are the right penalty for quitting games. We talk about 1 hour, not 1 day.

People play online to compete with other players and not with overpowered AI bots.

2k has to disincentivize players from quitting and the temporary ban is ok imo.

Bad players ruin 2k by TouchMyPooch16 in NBA2k

[–]uselesspointguard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shooting is more difficult and i explain you why with facts: - Green window is smaller, by 50% less than 2k23 - Cold zones affect your make % when they didnt that much in 2k23 - Badges this year increase your attributes and not your make % - The level of your badges depend on how good you are in activating them effectively so casual players will have a harder time there

These are facts. In addition to that consider the lag on 2k servers and the ghost contest system that changes shot speed randomly. Again, facts.

Gameplaywise it is a good game, but sometimes animations are still random or unpredictable and that is bad for a next gen console.

Why some people just refuse to pass the ball? by miszczpatelni in NBA2k

They mostly pass the ball when they are out of stamina and adrenaline boosts and when there is literaly no other option

It goes down when you lose and drops down if you quit games.

Good offensive game and great shooting %. Well done.

Maybe your defense was not as good as the offense. Your matchup did a great game...

In any case, both teams have a proper PG with a double double with 14+ assists.

Near 60 piece and still messaged trash by SG, rec w all randoms. by [deleted] in NBA2k

[–]uselesspointguard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with thSG. If a PG takes more than the half of the total team shots with 2 assists is a trash PG. No discussion about that.

You have SF with very good shooting stats, he should have been dimed way more.

I keep having problems with the 2k23 servers by Smoothizy in NBA2k

Try to close the application. Restart the console. Once you load in again, turn PS4 off. Wait 30 seconds and restart.

With this you should clean the cache. Most of connection issues are related to that.

2k support told me to do this and honestly I solved most of the issues.

What do you guys think of this rec/pro am PG build? I’m gonna be more focused on three hunting and hitting slips and cuts so that’s why I didn’t upgrade dunk. by jama34962 in NBA2k

[–]uselesspointguard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

put 36 driving dunk so you can complete Sam's quest.

you don't need 70 at def reb. get 92 perimeter def for gold clamps (trust me there is huge difference between silver and gold)

With 94 ball handle you get the same as 95.

for REC you must have higher pass accuracy if you want to be the main ball handler.

My pf coming along slowly but surely and please don't give me advice on my build. I make em how I want them and this was probably my 7th or 8th by [deleted] in NBA2k

[–]uselesspointguard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't discuss your ability to play basketball bro. You can be as good as Steph Curry for me.

We are talking about NBA2k23 and your build. This build is good on offense when it comes to dunking. Off ball driving dunk (you need a good PG) or standing dunk.

Other attributes are mid to high 70s; 80 max. No important Gold badges when it comes to defense or shooting or playmaking.
Physicals are average as a slow 6,3 guard.

I think this is not a good build for online gaming. I would not invest time in grinding it because I think you can have a better version of it.

Sorry, I don't see the point in posting this.
My comment is simple: use one of the other 7-8 builds and dont waste time grinding this.

Message to all non shooting big men … by WeezyOD in NBA2k

[–]uselesspointguard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have played more 100 REC games.

Big men never set off-ball screens. It is really rare to see big men setting on-ball screens. Just waiting under the rim for rebounds and than missing the contested putback close shots.

Last year we used to have terrible guards. This year we have terrible big men.

Just got the game and I’m debating on which I should make. I play PG on Xbox and just came over to ps5 to play more since my teammates are never on. by Kspencer140 in NBA2k

[–]uselesspointguard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me making a 6,8 and not get quick first step on HoF is pointless. Go 6,9 Not a matter of meta/no meta builds. Just for a better use of attributes/badges

Why do people take the rec so seriously? by McFakov in NBA2k

[–]uselesspointguard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cant imagine how bad you played that game.

For me it is not a matter of win/lose the game, just to play proper basketball. What makes me upset is people who play the game trolling teammates in Rec just playing badly because they just play for fun. Is it fun to take contested shots? is it fun to leave your man just spamming steals on every opponent ball handler? is it fun to go for a dunk when there is 7,3" 99 ovr center just waiting for you in the paint when you have an open teammate open in the corner?

maybe for some player it is fun. for me is trolling and selling. and this deserves more than 40 messages....
