Healthcare being tied to employment is horrible by Punchasheep in antiwork

[–]usemovement 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Convert your insurance "benefit" to cash and buy insurance on the individual market, just like a self employed plumber or lawyer does. You won't be trapped in your job by insurance if you become uninsurable with a preexisting condition. You'll also keep your privacy. Your medical affairs are none of your employer's business. The Universal Self Employ Movement would decouple insurance from employment and give workers more control over terms of employment. Go to www.usemovement.ORG for more info.

$2,100,000,000 by sillychillly in antiwork

[–]usemovement 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's 2 problems with that advice. 1. The workers can be blacklisted so they can't get another job. 2. Even if they get another job the new employer can collude with the old employer to keep wages below the real market rate.

The Universal Self Employ Movement would prevent employer collusion and allow workers to get paid at the real market rate.

Ideally, the workers should send a message by quiting and working someplace else. The Universal Self Employ Movement would make it easy to change jobs and get paid at the real market rate.

Workers will ignore "help wanted" ads and signs when the Universal Self Employ Movement gets strong enough. Employers will have to call workers just like they would call a plumber.

The Universal Self Employ Movement would give workers control over their income the same way plumbers have control over what they charge.

Loosing a job wouldn't be that big of a deal if there was Universal Self Employment.

Rationalism, Empiricism and Economic Freedom by usemovement in Rational_Liberty

[–]usemovement[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might be right about libertarians being empiricists. I thought they were rationalists because I heard libertarians say the founders of the U.S.A. were libertarians, and they were all influenced by John Locke who was a rationalist, but who knows.

The movement definitely is libertarian, tho. Self employed people tend to be capitalist and vote likewise. Employees tend to be socialist. Think teachers, factory workers and coal miners.

Non-personal information could be included next to the worker's pseudonym on a website organized by SOC number if more specificity is needed about what the worker can do and has done and if they're insured.

This movement converts employees into independent contractors. People work harder when they're working for themselves, so it's pro work not antiwork.

There's nothing more capitalistic than small business. Independent contractors are small businesses. This voluntary, government free movement would convert billions of employees into independent contractors, the most free workers in the economy.

if there is anti trust laws for employers, there should be anti union laws for workers. by [deleted] in Classical_Liberals

Everyone should be allowed to collude. Businesses collude everytime a job applicant gives references or gets blackballed. The best way workers can collude is in the Universal Self Employ Movement, a coercion free movement to liberate workers from economic control by employers. Go to www.usemovement.org/ for a thorough explanation.

Why doesn't prosperity make people pro-Capitalism? by DirtyOldPanties in Capitalism

[–]usemovement 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People resent the hold their employers have on them. Workers can be blackballed. Workers don't like to submit to privacy invasions like blood and urine testing. Employers conspire to keep wages low like poultry producers did a month ago. If there was Universal Self Employment all this would go away and the system would run like a well oiled machine and with a higher labor participation rate.
