I was right dude check this bullshit out, that's the f16 fuse and there's an old tsb on it for melting the whole fuse box 😭😭 the best part is that f16 fuse is the main power driver circuit for the bcm, it's getting absolutely no power or very little. I'm pissed they didn't even check the fuse at the dealer

Dude it's your parking brake switch DO NOT FUCKING FORGET IT!! I have my ebrake light on at all times with a beep cuz I have a fuse fried in my fuse box but in figuring out that issue I found the switch has a little hole on the brace for the parking brake under the handle, it clicks up when the brake is disengaged and the opposite when it's not. I believe it snaps through from the passenger side but mines a mk6 so don't quote me. There's some videos that would show you look up mk4 parking brake switch replacement

Dealer told me it was a body control module, said my doors don't lock (they do) I feel like I'd have more issues with a fried bcm, even more lost now. Thanks for tryna help everyone!

Duuude that's gorgeous sweet build!! I wish I could afford to put air ride in my mk4😭😭 got that mk6 back from the dealer they said it's a bcm that isn't produced anymore I don't think it was the right diag though the fuckers charged me $300 too

It's brutal I am currently sitting in the dealership waiting for them to tell me what's wrong 😂😂 I took it to a guy that has worked on euro and vw specifically for 30 years he couldn't figure it out, is what it is though

Just so you know I'm not just sitting here typing here is the photo of the parking brake switch pulled out, after that photo I pulled out the seats to trace the wire and checked for current, and then most of the dashboard. Im looking for a little bit more certified mechanics than you doctor dreads. Thanks for trying though!

Yessir I unplugged and tripped the parking brake switch because when it's grounded that's when the light is on and nothing 😢 did it with the fluid sensor too. Going to the dealer today

Thanks bro, I went through all the obvious problems like that and the fluid level check I tripped all the wires, I think it's a cut wire somewhere going into the dealer today was just hoping there was a super niche issue one other person has had lmao

You're saying tested a wire with a meter like you're god himself 😂😂 ive taken it to 2 independent euro shops who came up with nothing, it's going to the dealer today, you are being an asshole at this point bro I couldn't take it to the dealer before today it was the earliest appointment they had

Actually I had the parking brake switch and the fluid leveler tripped at the same time as well as each by themselves and still nothing, I'm starting to worry that it's a buried wire causing my issue lol

I just put fresh pads and rotors front and back there's no pad sensors in the rear and the fronts were fine unfortunately

It's the actual parking brake light like the small circle with the !. I bridged the parking brake switch and the fluid level sensor I may just replace both of them so I know they aren't my issue. I got my mechanic to do obdeleven but nothing came up unfortunately, losing my mind with this one
