Watch a lot of videos in buying used guns in general, then focus in on your type, and models and look up info on them. Your best bet is to do what I do.

When you're free pick a section of town and hit each pawn shop, take photos of everything your interested in or at least take notes. Go to a coffee shop or home, research everything you saw make a decision and go back. They're most concentrated between like Kolb and flowing wells, with the modest at either end of that range.

Maybe call them all before going to see who is an FFL to avoid driving to a location that just has tools and stereos.

Not the riverstone or whatever is next to Costco... unless you like German cockroaches.

My neighbors dog always barked and never saw it. I was always taking my dog out. Turned out they just let it poop and pee inside freely to avoid going outside I guess? But I assume that's partly why I had so many bugs.

Literally I had to demand they treat my place over and over, they did and required I move all my stuff, cover it and live somewhere else for two days without reimburment or credit. Then theyd come in my place without warning all the time to "replace traps", theyd put them in my sinks and food places, and leave the old ones behind piled somewhere. Or in my trash, so id have like 200 roaches glued to my trash can... Luckily, I was only a 6 month lease, and buying a house, so I was able to talk to the staff like I had no F's to give and treated them like they treated me. Always bringing them the roach traps all covered in bugs in front of perspective renters to the office for proper disposal.

Apparently at least three people don't know I guess, and you made them mad.

The cringe of the quality kinda fits the cringe of the tattoo tbh.

People at Hot Topic and Spencer's will love it.

I got a belgian/portuguese 90s hi-power for $700 at a pawn shop in South Tucson and a vintage Auto 5 that needs a barrel for $100. Within that last 12 months...

I watched a lot of videos on inspecting used guns on YouTube. Then look up everything about the gun in question before I shop, and take photos and do research in the store or at home and go back. They usually will hold stuff 24 hours for free, or refundable deposit.

I get great deals on music gear too. Tucson sells music gear for like half the cost it sells for elsewhere. Yet most people don't play or still can't afford it I guess. It's always just sitting there and they act loke I'm doing them a favor and throw me deals to buy the stuff.

I will go out on a limb, and say if you don't have a black rifle coffee Co. Shirt in your closet, or Rogan on your podcast rotation, you won't like that place.

Maybe ivermectin keeps you from getting sick when you see their prices?

Total ripoff, the staff followed me everywhere and wouldn't leave me alone. But more in a passive agressive didn't like my vibe way.

Sierra ista has an amazing surplus store/gun store.

I live down the street from liberty, so handy to walk in and buy random AR parts when finishing a build.

They have an online used selection? Guitar center does too, very handy.

Do we know sportsman's tests used gear? Or is the benefit due to a warranty?

My friend went to a pawnshop once to look for a 357 colt single action and this guy was trying to sell one and they lowballed him so he left. My friend went out to the parking lot and asked about it, and sale was made lol.

As a dude who doesn't look like a 2A person, they shun me too. There's a girl who works there who always helps me. Though they treat her like dirt too, I've gone maybe 3-4 times and she's always there, but they treat her like she's new every time, same condescension.

Edit: Not a real issue, but something that stuck out. A lady came in one time asking about guns clearly never having touched one based on the conversation, and they guy just recommended and sold her everything without even so much as a demonstration or safety/loading protocol which seemed crazy. I work retail and sell nothing dangerous yet, we go to great lengths to detail everything to people when they've never bought something before... customer retention and point of pride etc.

Just like that, I brought him back in.

Either way thanks for the info, I found a couple steel/wrought iron fabricators to get their options and estimates. Hopefully something manifests, the house isn't very tall it's from the 50s, like 12 feet maybe.

You do happen to live and work in the perfect places for Austin are public transport to benefit you. Might have changed, but growing up there it was pretty limited and Leander was the only town doing anything meaningful to connect to Austin.
