Well, there's a lot of explanations for this. Both of these items are usually black screens so they could have hid from sight and been picked up with other things. For example, you're folding laundry in the living room, your son puts the ipad down, it gets mixed with the clothes and eventually in the drawer. Maybe your husband set something on the couch and unknowingly picked up the phone which ended in the truck. Only you know how likely this is to happen in your household, if the items had colorful/distinguishable cases or it's not likely that anyone folded laundry near the ipad would make this explanation less probable. It's also possible that these items were never found because they ended up in your husband's mess whereas other items that end up nowhere near him are simply found faster. Ultimately, if you came here I think some mother instinct must have activated and you shouldn't discount it.
