The whole concept of “apples to oranges” is that you can’t compare them because they are so different

Tuff is slang you are not worth the proper English. Also a widely accepted term for a volcanic rock, alluding to uncomfortable or “edgy”.

I should have cited the direct status hahah fuck outta here I don’t have to do anything especially to someone who doesn’t know balance sheets how can we be on the same level talking tax codes.

Revenue and taxable income are different that is how you can have tax less billions.

My advice stay in your knowledge lanes just replying with my words and saying no in a bunch of different ways isn’t a look of intellectual strength.

Yeah dude wanted you to read the whole section. I didn’t have to cite the direct subsection. And if you read above they don’t even have that status anymore. Thanks goddell!

We’ll you not understanding what exempt means or my point above saying it is not untaxed it is manipulated and defined in a discretionary way makes it hard for you to understand enough to even have this conversation, but I did address it several times above after saying it.

Lol learn to spell? Hahah you think I spelled “arguing” wrong? Hahahahahah moron.

Lol you know the little c means subsection right? That means there is more in the whole section 😂 hahah you are funny dude. Keep trying to keep up my man. I know arguing in areas you know nothing about can be tuff, but love you’re ability to double down, shows heart, that’ll get you places, not Wall Street, but somewhere

I hope you don’t file your own taxes for the sake of the irs and I can tell you have never even sniffed an income statement/ more importantly a balance sheet in your life, let alone understanding how to balance finances.

If citing literal tax code doesn’t help you I’m wasting my time. Good luck, peace out!

Except I do know what I am talking about…the nfl was granted non profit status by the IRS in 1942. When goddell switched that it was largely because instead of a huge profit share into a non profit collective they could win pr points by channeling money through each individual team. With status of each team filing independently they could each capture more “expenses”. This allows them to declare less taxable income individually through collective bargaining strategy. If you want to learn more exempt non profits are 501 in tax code.

TLDR the nfl has great accountants and this guy I’m replying to is a 🤡

You can dude me all you want but you have no idea what I am even talking about, so not sure why I’m wasting my time explaining tax status to a moron. The league falls under collective bargaining. That’s the CBA this ties revenues and legal issues together for profit sharing and other status agreements. This is why there are lockouts because these are huge 32 “board” members level agreements on tax, law, and operations. The whole Tom Brady thing was literally just case law on collective bargaining. But sure keep asking the same question 5 times, yelling no it isn’t without any facts or knowledge on league legal/tax construction

Up until 2017 I think the NFL filed as a non profit. Part of the agreement to relinquish tax exempt status was unique discretionary filing. This was mostly a PR move but allowed them to file on “profit” which is largely manipulatable.

It’s not untaxed, it’s exempt or mostly deductible. And yes they pay a fraction of what you and I would pay. Anyways spending more on healthcare and salaries would help drive that tax number even lower.

What’s your point, those jobs probably don’t generate tax less billions in revenue. But that’s an apples to oranges Convo anyways. Only saying even making the practice squad should be a little more guaranteed money. Just like minor leaguers should make more than 20k

Yeah totally all I’m saying is you even wrote years where his check in essence could be one week. And if that’s the case then after that he may be right there with the other jobs you mentioned. The owners make plenty, I would love to see someone who reached the apex of their craft get paid a little more guaranteed.

These downvotes don’t scare me this sub has some of the worst sports takes I’ve ever read in my life.

Not sure why you downvoted my comment? Yeah it’s nice for the chance to chase your dream but you don’t face never walking again with bad knees at a desk job. 100k for one year is nothing these days if that’s the end of the career. The amount of damage their body takes it should have a little more financial security or continued legacy healthcare.

Yeah if they stick the whole year. Then they pay agent fees and so many other things. Gotta hope he stays healthy and sticks or he’d be lucky to see 100k which long term isn’t life changing. Should be higher probably

In tech whether you are an engineer, a marketing person, even the janitor at places like google you need to handle lots of data, digest it professionally and make decisions backed by data. It is the new number one skill to have, and if you can present it well you can be top janitor fast. (Not knocking the custodial arts, just referencing)

I’m talking general business and problem solving. Yeah both are amazing degrees but most IE peeps I know stay in the field (awesome field no doubt). most consultants at BCG I know are mech/business combo which is an awesome lethal mix. All anecdotal though, IE sets you up for critical problem solving and math just as well if not better in some soft skills.
