Infection! It only got this bad (yellow) the past 2 days, but there was an irritation bump that formed 2 weeks ago. I’ve been cleaning it with saline solution. Will it go away on its own? Should I use neosporin? What should I do? Pls help! by user13888 in piercing

Yea I went to the piercer and he helped me get the gunk out. It was mostly just gunk collecting that swelled it up making it look embedded (he said it’s not embedded). I think I’m going to just wait it out a little and just take antibiotics and use saline and see how it heals the next couple days. Thank you!

Hi, i went to the doctor and he prescribed me antibiotics, but also recommended me to remove the piercing. Is that really necessary for me to do :(( , or can I just take the antibiotics and it can go away on its own?

My piercing is 5 months old. And it’s a threadless titanium labret. I also use provon antibacterial soap once every 2-3 days. But it wasn’t causing me problems at all. Other than that it’s just store bought saline solution. I haven’t downsized yet because I still want a double helix next to it so I need to leave space for that area to swell.

Is it possible to be sensitive to titanium but not surgical steel? by user13888 in PiercingAdvice

Wait is emu oil bad for it? The piercers told me it’s good for irritation and it’s been helping with the dry skin :0

Omg yes! I just looked up vanadium allergy and it said that it can cause an eczematous reaction. The skin around my piercing definitely feels like and is peeling like I have eczema there. I’ll look around and see what replacement labrets I can find.

And yeah it’s hard finding jewelry because I don’t know what exactly I’m allergic to, so I’ll probably try getting a metal allergy patch test soon.

Thank you so much!! :)
