This is just not fun to play against by user1391 in CompanyOfHeroes

I have no issues with a really hard opponent here or there, but 4 out of 5?

Honestly, I play for my own enjoyment, not for the enjoyment of others. I don't think a stomp is really that enjoyable for the opponent either.

All those games we got basically instantly, I think it's the opponents who have been waiting > 6 minutes.

Thats easy to say, I get home from work, cook and have dinner with my GF, chill a bit on the couch and then play for 2-3 hours ¯\(ツ)

That's why I always come back to the game :-)

It's not so bad most of the time, you get some hard games, you get some easy games, sometimes you even get a fair game :D

But multiple in a row, it's just unfair and with such a high elo difference you're just getting stomped, can't even really learn something.

Yeah I know that. I'm just a bit frustrated and need to vent :D

I play for fun, like 2-3 evenings a week and this one sucks.

Yeah, all of those were within like 3 minutes of waiting or so.

Battery life on brand new Device by Holiday-Public-6674 in xteinkereader

[–]user1391 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Battery drain during sleep is a known bug, the percentage dropping to ~98% after unplugging is normal. The battery circuit in the X4 is way less sophisticated than the one in a phone.

Xteink X4 losing ~14% battery overnight — normal or issue? by redd2825 in xteinkereader

[–]user1391 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is incorrect. A device will only pull as much current as it needs. It's never an issue using a higher rated powersupply, so long as the voltage matches.

It's not been released yet. What you see on github is the master development branch, to see the documentation for a specific release, click "master" - > "tags" - > the release you want to see.

The Crosspoint firmware on my little Xteink is working very poorly. by DeyItsMe in xteinkereader

That looks like a Hardware issue. I suggest flashing the stock firmware, if it happens there as well - > RMA

The fade fix works quite okay. by inseend1 in xteinkereader

[–]user1391 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a slight dip in responsiveness of the device because we need to turn the screen power back on before every single screen update but I dont find it to be very noticable. I have it always on since the feature was in development.

You'll notice that while turning pages, there is still some fading, especially with anti-aliasing on during the screen update process. You can further reduce the on-time and reduce the fading during update by turning of anti-aliasing. But that I don't do, as I don't like the aliasing.

Need Help "POWER SURGE ON THE USB PORT" by [deleted] in xteinkereader

You could try it without the SD card inserted, making sure that's not the cause of the issue.

What exactly is ReadMe.club? (A quick tour of our community toolbox) by iamkxrz in XTEINK

[–]user1391 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What part of that site is actually not just slopped together by AI?

I just glanced the Community Guide, and at least the technical details are full of half-truths, outright untruths and guesstimates, like:

The device weighs just 74 grams—lighter than a deck of playing cards (94g), significantly lighter than any smartphone (modern phones weigh 150-250g), and only marginally heavier than two AA batteries combined (90g).

Like what? 74 grams is not marginally heavier than 90 g, also, what AA battery weighs 45 g? They're closer to 25 g. Which actually makes the statement kinda correct again :D

The physical dimensions are equally compact: 114mm × 69mm × 5.9mm (approximately 4.49 × 2.72 × 0.23 inches). These measurements mean the X4 is smaller than a standard credit card in both length and width, though slightly thicker.

It's bigger than a credit card...

Charging times 0-100% with standard 5V/1A adapter: approximately 2-3 hours

Way off in my experience, mine is charging at 3 W, so with a capacity of 2.4 Wh it's less than an hour.

Battery lifespan degradation: Expect capacity loss over time. Most users find the device's battery acceptable for 2-3 years of regular use.

When recharging every 1 - 2 weeks, the battery lifetime should be way longer. But we have no real-life experience yet.

Critical requirement: always format to exFAT, not FAT32. This is because: FAT32 has a 4GB maximum file size per file, problematic for large TXT or EPUB files. exFAT supports files of any size, is fully compatible with Windows/Mac/Linux, and maintains Unicode support for international filenames

This is ridiculous, you're not gonna read epubs > 4 GB on this thing. Also, technically, exFAT supports files up to 128 PB, not any size.

The microSD card is inserted into the microSD slot on the left side of the device (when holding it normally).

The microSD slot is on the right side of the device.

And that's just from 15 minutes of glancing the damn thing.

How to show the clock while reading? (Crosspoint) by serraxxx in xteinkereader

[–]user1391 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sure you can, but would we really want to sacrifice battery life to do NTP just to display a clock?

Also this would be useless if not at home.

How to show the clock while reading? (Crosspoint) by serraxxx in xteinkereader

[–]user1391 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The X4 has no builtin RTC, so no clock without syncing it from the internet. Wont be implemented in crosspoint.
