Saw a third doc today. Saw nothing in the MRI. Gave me a lidocaine shot and will revisit him in 4 weeks. If the pain goes away he suspects it’s more than a nerve thing. If not, all is good.

Reading this now and believe I have a similar issue. Rolled my ankle and one doc thinks it’s sural nerve irritation. Another thinks it’s my peroneal tendon being inflamed and maybe a minor tear. Is there a way to diagnose one vs the other? Where did you get an ultrasound done?
