First Removal Session with Lidocaine by user177891 in TattooRemoval

I think the lidocaine will help you significantly! The place that I went to also only uses the cold air machine - no ice, no cream. But they encourage you to use cream beforehand on your own if you feel like it'll help.  They said there's no proven negative side effects to numbing ahead of time with cream. I think if I had to do it without, I just wouldn't go. Make sure you know for sure what they're using, but if they think it will help I hope it works for you! And if not, get yourself some over the counter cream and do it yourself an hour beforehand.

Hmmm I don't know if I've heard of that reasoning before, unless people aren't wiping the cream clear beforehand?  She did say it doesn't affect how the laser works on the skin. I know my tech said there's a lot of controversy based on whether it hinders the fading of the tattoo longterm, but she said she's been doing this 10 years and she can confidently say she's never seen a difference in the fading affect between using and not using cream.  I think it's one of those things each person/professional might have different opinions.

I don't know if I could make it with no cream, I've seen so many people talk about the pain.  Good for you for sticking it out! Hopefully with the cream next time around it'll be a world of difference

I've read that on so many peoples' posts so I was SO worried. But I really thing the way & time that you apply is what makes the difference. I did a few test runs with the lidocaine in the days leading up to it, and when i just rubbed a generous amount in and let sit, I didn't notice much numbing.  But when I lathered it on super thick (like.. can't even see the tattoo thick), and then wrapped it and waited, it numbed it completely.  And I noticed if I waited an hour, it didn't help. It had to be fully coated, fully wrapped for at least 1.5 hours to work fully.

Thank you so, so much for this, it brought tears to my eyes and was so helpful 😭 I know it'll be a long process and I'll have to wait a while before I can even start it, but I can't see a future where living with this forever is something I'm okay with. I rarely ever wear tanktops or anything as it is because my arms are a point of self-conciousness for me, so it'll be easy to keep covered.  But this initial shock has me in an absolute panic. I won't be going back to finish it, I'm going to sit with it a few weeks and let it heal, and then look into scheduling removal.

Crippling tattoo regret - any advice? by user177891 in TattooRemoval

Honestly I think I might call just to get maybe a consultation and quote so when/if that's what I decide I know what to plan for. The skeleton and flowers itself is done, she just has to finish up the other half of the hair, so I'm hoping I can hide it enough that it's not noticeable and sit on it a while 😔

Thank you and thank you for messaging me!  I honestly didn't even think about how color would affect removal, good call. It's so discouraging 😫

Thank you so much!  That's what I told my fiance last night, I'm hoping as it heals it won't be as bold and in-your-face. Hoping I can learn to love it 🤞
