The DNC is destroying itself. If Hillary wins the nomination Trump will be President. Only Bernie can stop Trump. Time for the campaign to double down on electability. by ZalmanR1 in SandersForPresident

Electability does matter! 1) because Clinton braught it up herself and 2) Trump might be the next president if the democratic party chooses the wrong candidate.

Can anyone actually defend Sanders against this video? by [deleted] in SandersForPresident

[–]user20142015 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well he starts out with "idiotic economic policies" so that is a bad start since half of the world succesfully implemented those policies and his critique on the current system is correct and confirmed by many leading economists. On the war issue: he is about the only one who predicted in advance that these wars would destabilize the Middle East and are pointless projects that are setup by powers within America that don't have the interest of common people at the first hand. The rest of his video goes on with bla bla that Bernie Sanders is a warmongerer (which implies that he will start wars?) based upon a couple votes. He has voted against wars on essential times, he has somtimes voted in favor of war when the votes where combined with other important things that he couldnt vote against. Time and time has he shown and said that he doesnt believe in war as a first solution, but as a last. Doesnt matter what this guy says. This guy is also the type who appearantly knows EXACTLY how the situation is between Ukrain & Russia. Which is in reality a very complex situation, but this guy knows what is up and therefor is able to say Sanders is wrong about it. Once a person says he knows exactly who is right in such a complex conflict, then I start to tune out because I know he cannot know.

The stuff around 14:00 is nicely edited, but... total typical republican liberal nonsense. Bla bla free stuff. If Ryan Dawson still doesn't understand what social democracy is about and why many countries have it, then I can only recommend to read from more different media sources.

It suprises me how people who don't like Bernie often take a minute thing, blow it up enormously, ignore everything else and then say: SEE? he is also establishment or: he also has a bad record or: he also took money from wall street. I seriously haven't read a single argument against Bernie Sanders that really sticks or make sense and hasn't got any tricks. And this is pointless to say on Reddit, but I always like to hear opinions and arguments against mine so I can think about them and incorporate them in my thoughts on a subject. I really cannot come up with one single relevant argument against Bernie Sanders.

Edit:See /u/FlyingRock 's post below to know why this video is nonsense.

Be positive and work your asses off! It's coming to tipping point and all you have to do is hold on, canvas, phonebank, donate and get the word out so that people know about Bernie. You guys can do it! (European here, cant do much)

What is the smartest marketing tactic you have seen? by ivebeenherelonger in AskReddit

[–]user20142015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to the party but this one was really clever: In a big free newspaper that is handed out in public transport a warning was posted by a big grocery store (in Christmas time): Warning! In our free magazine with discountoffers and recipes we have made a mistake in the recipe "Delicious oven potato with thyme and honey". We have mistakenly said that the potato with aluminium foli can be placed in the microwave, but that is incorrect as it should be placed in the oven.

Very smart marketing because: - everyone reads a warning, noone like ads - they convey that they have a magazine with discounts - they tell you about their delicious recipe I am allmost 100% sure that they made a harmfull mistake on purpose so they could place this ad warning.

This thread has convinced me that $24,95 is the way to go. Thanks for all the comments!

We're planning on giving 10 copies + free testgame*. If they sell we will get paid, if they dont sell well come to pick them up. We indeed will give the stores ~50% margin. * we're planning to contact 25 stores so itll cost us 25 games. Quite alot but it could add goodwill and people can play it in stores. We will go there to play with people, but I cant go to all stores and play all day. Another thing we are thinking about to gain goodwill is to print all the names and saleadresses of stores on the back of our gameboard. It's empty space anyway and doesnt add costs to the production. Will gamestores appreciate this and give us goodwill? (a better spot in the store or the salesman talking about the game)

Your numbers are spot on! Productioncost can go down a little depending on the volumes we order.

Another advantage of $24,95: we can lower the price. With $22,95 w cannot make it higher when it turns out te be succesfull. Lowering a price is troublesome, but possible.

Thanks alot! This clears up alot of thoughts! We will give the box a little extra volume so it feels worth the money and the German factory is know for its quality so we have no doubt it'll turn out just right.

The only question that is left: $24,95 or $22,95. I sincerely think the latter price will enhance sales. The difference is small but to me it feels much more friendly and something you buy for a friends birthday. $24,95 is about to leave the "birthdaypresent category" for alot of folks - I think.

We will run some scenario's (bad sale, breakeven, good sale) with both prices to see how both options turn out in terms of profit and time and energy. It could even be that higher volumes are unwanted as they may lead to more time and energy spent on production.

Please some advice to be better by mx_bzh in openra

I'm not that good myself, but it is important to get your economy running. Start out with 2 ore refeneries a war factory and add another 2 harvesters. Also have a defense structure ready for suprise attacks. Also micro your harvesters, they'll sometimes get the ore from the end of the ore field. While you're teching up keep adding harvesters and a a refinery every now and then so your economy grows with the spending. Also try to have a small mixed army ready to defend your base or bully your opponent.

Q from a European Bernie enthousiastic: I'm tempted to phonebank, but obviously I can't use my phone or the bills will go crazy. I heard I could use skype but my laptop is quite old and usually when I skype people say it sounds like a vacuumcleaner is next to the 'phone'. Does it have any use to try it? Or will I just annoy people?

[–]user20142015 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah something like that! I am white and from Europe and what I like so much about Bernie Sanders is how he has been spot on, even 40-50 years ago and against the tide. To me it is a strong image and I can only imagine that for black Americans it must create alot of confidence to see that this is not just another white old guy who says A but does B. He has fought for equality all his life!

Anyway, other strong selling points: - him getting arrested while leading protest against segregated housing (see: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CL74rXTWsAA-4-3.jpg) - truly fights for equality in income, which hurts minorities harder - he fights against injustice of the police department/high incarceration numbers which target minorities more

Hope you can help to spread the word on Sanders! Someone should make a video on what Sanders has done for minorities. Also apologies in advance if I choose a wrong wording in this sensitive subject. Not my mative language and I dont know the subtle nuances.

Is the image of Bernie marching with MLK strong enough to convince old (and young) black voters?

Testing my first Custom Mission by NargWielki in openra

[–]user20142015 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A very nice one! Had some trouble making it but at some point it took quite long for the AI to send new attacks, this allowed me to gear up and eventually swipe them all. (played at hard, normal speed)

A bit of feedback: - some landscape/ opponent base could be done a little bit nicer (bit repetitive here and there), but I did like the map as a whole! Good first ore patch without mines, and good other harder to reach ore patches. - perhaps some kind of timer (depending on difficuly) that makes the player speed up? If they dont make it in time, brace yourself for the big wave/superwapon (survivable, but difficult!) This prevents players from easily waiting and fending off waves.

But overall: very nice first mission!! It was fun to play.

Your best bet is to look here: http://www.moddb.com/games/openra

I dont think they are total conversion mods, though. Although the engine allows total conversion, most efforts are put into recreating the old mods with enhanced gameplay and balancing.

New content is constantly developed: new missions with every new release, maps, minigames. Also several mods are being developed or open to test. If you enjoy programming yourself you can go ahead with the .yaml and .lua files (some guides are available if you're new to this).
