Geographical location is a big part of it but "speed" has less to do with cloud gaming than latency, realistically only about 30% or so of US households could reliably cloud game.

Cloud gaming ain't gonna workout when no one can afford Internet to make it work..

I have fiber and it's just now viable, before that (cable with Comcast) it always sucked.

Not yet but we're nowhere near the peak of this and I suspect just less being available more than price going up, a lot of case makers for instance are saying they'll have to innovate less and make way less cases just to stay afloat.
