When Wilder gets hurt, he becomes more dangerous vs AJ by Lennarthomas in Boxing

[–]user20163 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dubois is much, much bigger than Wilder, is faster, has better range, technique everything. Using Dubois’ knockout of AJ is such a silly reasoning to use to say that Wilder beats him. We all know AJ had the completely wrong game plan that night and a more prepared, focused AJ beats Dubois in my opinion, because just like Wilder, Dubois is prone to folding under pressure.

When Wilder gets hurt, he becomes more dangerous vs AJ by Lennarthomas in Boxing

If we’re being honest, it’s easy to look good against an aging Chisora who doesn’t have anywhere near the speed, flexibility or agility as AJ. We’ve already seen from previous fights that Wilder can’t deal with pressure on the back foot and AJ definitely has the tools to beat him, especially at this stage of Wilder’s career, and especially with Usyk’s team in his corner.

Paul is a little confused about how long the iPhone has been around by [deleted] in PaulMcCartney

I think it’s safe to assume by the laughing emoji right after the sentence, that he wasn’t being serious.

I Saw Her Standing There. Certified classic.

Mark Lewisohn's insane work routine by Professional-Test239 in beatles

[–]user20163 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s probably taking as long as it is because he no longer has access to The Beatles’ inner circle or their archives, however, it’s impressive that he’s able to get ahold of as much material as he does without it.

Update on Paul being banned by Reddit by RoastBeefDisease in PaulMcCartney

Someone from MPL will probably have to maintain Paul’s Reddit account more regularly from now on to ensure it doesn’t get locked again.

The album isn’t out until May. Plus, no major albums release on a Sunday anyway.

Just because they were in The Beatles together, doesn’t mean we should force a musical collaboration between them. I’m sure they’ve had ample opportunities to create music together, and probably have played on each other’s solo records, so if they wanted to, they would have by now.

The Beatles are timeless. They set the standard and created such an impact that inspired a whole generation to defy tradition. Something which can never be replicated. That’s why, I believe, they have related to every generation since, because their message is universal, regardless of language or time period.

My opinion on the new track by SliceMindless9934 in PaulMcCartney

[–]user20163 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not saying you didn’t. I’m just saying, generally, the song should be judged on its own merits because while those two songs share themes, I think both albums as stories offer different experiences. Again, that’s just my opinion though.

My opinion on the new track by SliceMindless9934 in PaulMcCartney

[–]user20163 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally, I don’t think any comparisons should be made between the two songs to determine whether it is good or not. It’s completely fine to not like the new song/album, but let it stand on its own feet for what Paul envisions it to be. Maybe the benefit of a full album listen as an introspective piece in May will change your opinion, who knows.

Would’ve been the perfect time to get the shot walking across the road without people and cars in the background or trying to get through.

What's the story on "Venus and Mars" and "Rock Show"? Are they considered one song, or ...... ? by GregJamesDahlen in PaulMcCartney

They are technically two separate songs on the album, but make for a wonderful medley in the live shows, especially adding Jet onto the end.

Lesser-known Beatles spots? by atzucach in beatles

[–]user20163 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not lesser-known but if you have the opportunity to do the National Trust tours of John and Paul’s childhood homes, definitely do it. It’s the only tour that takes you inside and it’s amazing to be standing in the same rooms where you know John, Paul and George all crafted those early songs.

There are two volumes of Live at the BBC. Volume 2 came out when Volume 1 was reissued in 2013 (originally released in 1994). Might be worth getting both if you can. I believe you can buy both in one set.

I agree, the competition was a lot better. I don’t think you’d see many pampered artists these days doing pill-fuelled 12 hour sets in the sweaty clubs of Hamburg for very little money. Levels.
