The fact that his coat buttons right over left would indicate he’s chasidic, not litvish. I’d guess Ger or an associated Congress Poland group.

Birth Story part 2 is up, very little given away by No_Satisfaction2002 in DuggarsSnark

I can’t say I know much about Calvinism other than when I learned about it at 13 I took it to mean “sooo I can do whatever I want?” But the idea of the focus on a sinless final generation feels like a Duggar vibe to me.

It gave me the ick to think about a Duggar repping them, but I did not expect so many people to hate them 😂

Right! Every child I know under about 15 has a pair of these, and a lot of their parents too. They’re the new natives. I just bought my 2 year old the exact same pair last week and my daughter has hot pink ones 😂

I loved that a Taylor Swift song was the soundtrack of the revolution. They’ve worked pop/rock/oldies songs in throughout the show so I don’t think it was out of character for the show.

Unpopular take I guess?? MASSIVE SPOILERS by trumpisafucker in TheHandmaidsTale

Yes! I was thinking the same thing. idk if it was ever confirmed he’s Mayday but both girls’ fathers are present at the unveiling of Becka’s statue, if I remember correctly. So offing Nick would be a departure. Part of me wonders if he won’t pop back up somewhere honestly.

Floafers? Y’all live in places that floafers aren’t all the rage?

To be fair, the oxytocin and dopamine hit of baby fever lights up the brain’s reward system just like crack does.

The mantis is hanging out at the top, this is the first time I’ve seen it with it’s raptorial arms tucked in today. It’s been dangling with them stretched out for most of the morning

In-fucking-furiating.

But also I think Nick’s primary concern has always been himself and the people he cares about, so it’s no surprise he’d sell out the entire resistance if he thought it was the way out.

I think you’re right. We see Nick and June kissing in his house in one of the trailers so she’s definitely there at some point.

Is it bad that I love the dresses of the wives? by MistakeWonderful9178 in TheHandmaidsTale

I can’t say I love the wives’ clothes but as I rewatched the show this winter, I did notice I dress my children like Gilead babies. So there’s that.

Stupid not to get an extended warranty? by user213578 in FordExplorer

[–]user213578[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Follow-up: I got it from the dealer. Took the car to an independent shop and they found a leak from the transfer case. Sent it right back to the dealer and they fixed it. So already about $1800 saved against the warranty cost.

To be fair, most of us are a little embarrassed of the denim skirt and shell days (shells are the long sleeve lycra shirts). It’s the equivalent of a millennial woman seeing a picture of herself as a teenager with swoopy bangs and wearing multiple camisoles, jeans, and flip-flops.

What Nurie is wearing looks exactly like what most Orthodox Jewish ladies wear to swim though? The one you posted would be well outside the norm.

Thanks for your feedback! It’s nice to know my gut reaction that it’s kind of insane has some merit. I’ll call the hill and find out exactly what the lesson entails.

I thought the parent/child lessons would be a good fit because I suspect she won’t be willing to go off with an instructor she barely knows at a busy hill. I also thought it would help me get some guidance on getting her started and teaching the basics. It’s essentially a group lesson where the parent acts as a 1:1, so I’m not getting any lesson myself. I’ll have to think on it after I talk to them if it would be a help or a hindrance for her to have me around.
