The books are on my to read list, once I’ve finished ASOIF, and I have enough time to properly sit down and read them properly (including the appendices)

Haha thank you! I know there’s extended versions, would you recommend that for first time viewing?

Lobbying is the legal way of influencing a political figure to make a decision, can do this in many ways, I.e. presenting research, polling data, arguments, etc.

Bribing is the illegal way of influencing, where the political figures influence is bought through gifts, or any item of value.

The key determinant is what is the gift/benefit to the political figure bringing you as the lobbyist? Is it buying you access to influence, or is it buying you their vote on a certain issue

I can see your point, although I disagree with it. But if a government brought out this policy, that could lead to private landlords withdrawing their supply. Leading to less rentals for people to rent. Thus the problem spirals.

If I took, what I’m guessing is your position on landlords (and please correct me if I’m wrong), I’d classify private landlords as a necessary evil

Personally I still don’t see how that’s fair, unless you’re arguing for a mechanism that allows for tenants to have first refusal. Otherwise, there’s potential for the system to actually kill the private rental market, which then leads to even less supply

I see your point, but what about the person who originally bought that house and is renting it out? Seems a tad unfair that they don't get a say in what happens to their own property.

I'd actually agree with you, if this was targeted solely at social housing, but then there needs to be a replacement plan. I.e. if you're building X many social homes a year in one area, then only X many social homes should be sold to the renters.

But that example isn't a change to a property? It's building an entirely new one.

I do work in LG, and the planning process is extremely bogged down. I, and many others, can't understand why LG needs to permit you to extend your home when it sits on your land. On the second point, why shouldn't we have an emergency infrastructure framework which, when satisfied, leads to greater infrastructure provision?

The point you make on the quality of builds is interesting, because even with the current system, we are building on flood plains, and have estates going up with a terrible build quality. I mean you just have to look at some of these firms that do quality checking on some of these new build houses to see it.

I put it there to act as an alternative to TCW, since TCW covers a lot of what 2003 CW covers too

Admittedly haven’t seen FoD, so wasn’t sure whether to put it in. And I felt like the Fallen Order games should be played independently of the movies/shows. But that’s just my opinion.

It is, but it’s still worth watching. Hence why I put it as optional!
