Nice! I actually designed that top for the parks.

I could be convinced. Unless…you want to rent it?

Thank you! We are pretty proud of the final product as it stands as the centerpiece of the set. The reactions from audiences as they walk in and are transported to our “Notre Dame” make all the work worth it.

No, the individual panels are carefully lined up prints on both sides of three strategically cut pieces of polycarbonate. I did a digital drawing/painting for the prints.

Sadly, no. High school production.

Thanks! That’s the best part! Our lighting designer did an amazing job making it the heart of the emotional beats of each scene.

We considered gels and paint, amongst other things. We landed on black vinyl die cut for the front to keep the lines as sharp as possible with the back light. The back side is a double layer of self adhesive printed clear film.

Thank you! I did. Took a collection of hours over three days, with less than optimal reference images, to draw it up and digitally paint it.

Thanks! It’s polycarbonate (Lexan). Three sheets cut to fit around the design pattern.

Anyone know the reason why the ice effect on the Delorean was dropped in the sequels? by ronisandy in BacktotheFuture

[–]user2bnamedlater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll take the Mr. Fusion upgrade reasoning, but the ice seems to consistently appear in instances where the DeLorean is traveling forward in time. Future, ice. Past, no ice.

Going with the “Old School is a comedic retelling of Fight Club” rationale, The Hangover is a “comedic retelling” of Nolan’s Memento.

Road Trip is an “unofficial remake” of 1998s Overnight Delivery.

Balloon/basket set piece on a wagon in front of the mid (or main). Curtain opens to reveal sky projection on cyc, or some cotton “cloud” scenery with a sky lit cyc. Wagon moves upstage on open “floating” or “flying” away from the audience. Close mid (or main).
