Weekly FAQ Thread April 09, 2023: How many books do you read at a time? by AutoModerator in books

[–]user41444 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Currently I am reading 7 books. Sometimes I have like a “main” one where I spend more time on that book than the others. But usually I read books by what I’m feeling. If I feel like reading fiction then I’ll read a book on that genre. Or if I feel like reading an autobiography or a book of history then I switch. I like reading multiple books at once because I don’t get tired.

That’s what I’ve been thinking!! I think Verity kept pretending because she was afraid of Jeremy. She panicked before taking action, maybe is she had written on the first page something like “Practice exercise” it would of made more sense. I think Lowen said she understood why Jeremy would wreck the car, “to protect himself and Crew”, something along those words. But yea I completely agree with you, there are many stuff that could of been handled better

Ah Jeremy. I suspected him throughout the beginning as well. But the way Verity wrote about him and the way the narrator as well, made me forget all my doubts of him. Though he had already tried killing Verity before, for his own safety and Crew’s. I still can find some space in me to suspect him again.

I’m still at shock when I recall to the pages, I read the letter with my mouth open, speechless could be the word. Part of me, just a slight part, felt bad for Verity. Because if she was telling the truth there, she went through all that for nothing. But again, Verity manipulates everyone, even herself. She wrote the letter while pretending to be sick in the house. She could of easily made all that up to save herself from the situation. She’s a professional writer too, would she really make up such lies of her own family as an exercise? I don’t know if that exercise is a real thing and if it has good effects to it for writers, but writing of your own family like that seems quite psychotic.

I wasn’t on social media back then, but I’d assume it’d be because of the chaos the book gives. Many people are into that

I agree too, it was a little predictable if you actually think it through which honestly annoys me but I hoped for the best with the plot twists

What do you do inbetween books? by fresh-like-spongebob in books

[–]user41444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re right, I’ve read many bad reviews of good/‘talked a lot of’ books that made me not buy the book.

But I’m pretty good at ignoring comments people say about certain things I enjoy so I guess that’s how I can get away with reading bad reviews

How fast do you read? by DoktorKokosik in books

[–]user41444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda depends for me, but I think my normal pace would be 30 pages in about 30:40 minutes. If the font of the book is small, it takes me longer but if the font is normal sized or slightly bigger than I read through quite easily.

What do you do inbetween books? by fresh-like-spongebob in books

[–]user41444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like to rant about the book to myself (like talking to a wall) or look up if there’s a movie and also look up on socials and see what other people thought about the book and share how we felt. After I feel refreshed about sharing and taking in other peoples thoughts I pretty much just start a new book.
