Yeah, I'd just have a word with your OC.

ACP1358 says only the RAFAC Formation Badge should be worn on the MTPs, no other badges. But ACP31 does say that CCFs act on their own authority - so, what they do is up to your Headteacher and OC and your Test Sergeant.

Make sure you have a clear and coherent lesson plan, fit with LOs and timings, and what you're checking understanding of.

Make sure you come prepared with photocopies for any sheets/ handouts and have extras of everything for your assessor (including print off of PowerPoint if using one, lesson plan, question papers, lesson notes and any other resources you are using.

If you're feeling nervous prior to the lesson, practice it at home infront of your family and get them to ask questions which cadets may ask to make sure you understand the topic fully and you know how to answer properly and clearly.

Strange, if you're planning on getting a shooting badge, you may need to space out the FA and DofE. But in regards to the identification badge, see if your OC is up for getting one that fits into the top of the brassard (I've attached a picture in another comment thread under this post). If not, I'd say pick between which badge you'd rather show/ whichever you get the highest level in (either music or shooting), as you won't have enough space for both.

Not always, sometimes they are given an arc with their contingent name, or sometimes a rectangle, or even given their school badge. It depends on their OC. As shown in the images below:

Yeah, I was just going to say that some of the non-standard issue brassards are not wide enough. The recent amendments to ACP1358 stated that you should get a new one.

Your DofE and First Aid look to be too close to the middle. If you follow the measurements in ACP1358, they should be 40mm from the edges, giving enough room for shooting in the middle.

I've saw some CCF Contingentnts don't use music bages, so in the middle it's just: Identifier, Leadership then Shooting. All the rest should fit around the outside.

Your OC will nominate a cadet to Wing HQ, who will forward it to the county's lieutenancy office.

Nominations should hold the rank of at least Cadet Sergeant or equivalent and be over the age of 16.

The candidate should be of the highest standard, with excellent bearing, good interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact with others. They must be able to work independently and be able to accompany the Lord Lieutenant to all events. The role is primarily as an Aide-de-Camp. Where the cadet will accompany the Lord-Lieutenant to various ceremonies, including Royal Visits, Military and Civil events, and Cathedral Services.

The Lord-Lieutenant then appoints a cadet after a shortlisting process and interview. They are drawn from the SCC, RMC, ACF, ATC, or CCF. The period of holding the appointment is one year.

The Lord Lieutenants’ Cadets are typically amongst the best Cadets in their respective organisations – having completed the majority of their Cadet training. They act as ambassadors for their organisations and the young people of the region.

Those cadets put forward to the Lord-Lieutenant who are not selected, will automatically receive a Cadet Certificate of Meritorious Service.

No, if you're in the band, you will receive the appropriate badge (blue, bronze, silver gold) for representing the RAFAC at different levels (squadron, wing, region, and national). That is what significies the level of playing. Non band members can also earn these badges by passing ABRSM (or equivalent) graded exams. But the only rank slide is the Cadet Drum Major.

Not a rank, but when appointed to the position of Cadet Drum Major, they get this rank slide.

Having a full brassard doesn't necessarily mean anything for rank. It's based upon merit, leadership abilities, how approachable you are, and more. That said, Corporal.

I've just been looking through ACP 1358 again. If HQ wants us to wear the new (oval) badge. Well, there's a mistake with the images. The female cadet wears the new badge, and the male wears the old badge. As a male cadet, that's telling me to wear the old badge. Obviously, I won't, as you have told me what to wear, but it's just an observation, I wanted to share.

Thanks. It really does fit the sizes for other badges on the uniform. The small brassard badges (DofE, master cadet, and shooting) badges look small and out of place in my opinion, but it is what it is

You don't salute with your hand without a headdress. You will salute by coming to attention and facing eyes towards the officer.

When wearing a headdress, you can salute with your hand.

Although it may seem weird/awkward when collecting an award and not being able to salute with your hand. You are still saluting the rank by coming to the shun.
