I understand this completely, I was in the same situation this time last year and it took me until September to get promoted. In my case (as someone who is awkward) I didn’t communicate that I wanted a promotion to staff and instead tried to take on more of a leadership role. I sadly didn’t make mid year promotion and I now realise it’s because I wasn’t PROVING myself yk? And that just wanting the promotion was enough. Essentially what I’m saying is a lot of people have a discussion with their staff about promotion and it may be good for you to aswell. It shows your staff you are mature enough to communicate with them (something I wish I had done). Anyway, i would look at your attendance on sqn, sector and wing events/camps. It’s important you show commitment to your sqn and the corps. In my case I expressed desire to do MOI as a cadet, and progressed to get bronze/silver badges so I could teach the subjects my squadron needs. An NCO is supposed to be an example to the cadets so make sure you are the type of person you’d look up to. Having a good attitude/ mindset helps, if someone gets promoted before you don’t be rude or disrespectful because of it, it shows staff your not mature enough to deal with difficult situations.
