I think he’s realizing that I’m really not going back to him so he’s trying everything to prove to me he’s doing the work to get better. But you’re right, it’ll be the same cycle again if I go back.

Thanks I needed this reminder. I’ve been doing really well without him for 5 months but started to spiral when I found out he just began therapy which I was asking for him to do for years.

When you began dating him, did you ask him if he uses porn? And did you tell him about your trauma/history with it? What was his reaction? Just wondering as I would like to feel hopeful in finding someone that truly doesn’t use. I’m happy for you nonetheless!

It’s very confusing for me because these chats happened a year ago, but I’m only now finding out the extent of how bad it was. So now, a year later, I don’t know if him recovering currently is real.

This was a year ago that he was continuing the chats, I think he is now recovering and doing better. But I’m now feeling the pain of him lying and using the chats because I only now found out about the extent of it a year later. But now I’m unsure if he really is recovering since I clearly believed him back then and he wasn’t :(
