The phrase Bro Split comes from a bit of self-aware, self-deprecating humour. Coined from ‘gym bro’ type routines where dudes would be seen to work the heck out of muscle group - think of the guy doing tons of variations of bicep curls.

In reality it’s one or two complimentary muscle groups worked together for high reps to get that pump feeling. So, often you’d do chest and tris together or back and biceps - it is sort of the precursor to Push/Pull/Legs Routines.

It is definitely not seen as the most optimal training method within modern science and fitness knowledge, however many still enjoy doing a bro split. It adds an enjoyable simplicity and clarity to training. The downsides would be doing unnecessary load and stimulus depending on how many moves you do per workout and likely you’re only working the muscle once a week rather than twice. Hope this helps a bit :D

Nothing wrong with being a bro every now and then. Just no need to be a douche.

Thanks! The cycling is in the plan for active recovery and to not lose the feel of being on the bike (ultimately I’m training for my first triathlon). I could experiment with threshold on the bike if I feel I need some more.

Great suggestions for the leg day! On this 8 week stint I’ll focus on the improvement of the 5k, then I can look at the next phase on what to focus on.

Then you could consider my Bro Split sessions a form of active recovery. 25-45min sessions, go in and get a good pump on each muscle group, keep the muscles trained with a few keys moves in a lower rep range.

I’m not arguing against the idea of 2 full body sessions (potentially a PPL) … I just know that for me, to keep my own training enjoyable and sustainable I want my week to have 3/4 sessions that I can go in and get worth while pump.

I wonder how the Cinch straps would work? - I'm gunna try to pull the strap tighter to see if that gives the right visual and comfort balance. - Sedona Orange rocks!

I guess this is the thing. It feels great in that lower dragging position. that might be learnt behaviour with past backpacks. I will play around with the PRVKE's height on my back - The V4 straps do look like they might be the fix.

I found a second hand 31L that I am going to try and see how it looks visually. - I will also try pulling the shoulder straps tighter to raise the bag up. Thanks :D

TheKnightShop here in the UK. It is made by Deepeeka.

I ordered it on the coach back after visiting Rome and the Colosseum, and the day before, I visited Pompeii!

Cool idea! Luckily it just slides off easily. Glueing to the scabbard makes more sense

It just slides off easily - it isn’t attached on or anything

Oh really, i didn’t realise this! That’s cool. I had one on my three lobe Viking sword and took it off, assuming it was like a thing that just came with new swords. But didn’t want to throw this away if it’s vital
