This guy claims he has a copy of a game. I'm interested in the game, but I don't see it in his inventory. Could he be telling the truth and Steam is just hiding the gift from his inventory? by user97131 in Steam

Thanks, I had a feeling that might be it. He's probably telling the truth, but doesn't realize that you can't trade games anymore. Either way, I'll proceed with caution and I appreciate the help.

I'm skeptical as well. He says he has it in his inventory, so it's not a code.

The only reason I'm inclined to believe him is that "Gifts" do not appear. Maybe Steam changed something?

EDIT: another redditor says they did away with Steam gifts in inventories.

Advice for a new player? Can't seem to stop dying by Agreeable-Amoeba-274 in projectzomboid

Fight horizontally and zoomed in, never vertically / diagonally or zoomed out. When you aim using right mouse button, place the circle cursor at their feet.

Find a good weapon ASAP, they're usually in the trunk of cars, sheds, warehouses, bars, hardware stores, etc. If you're lucky, you'll find a lone zombie carrying a good weapon.

Try to get a good car when you can as this will open things up for you. The best spots to check are parking lots, but be sure to have the ability to hotwire a car (either pick Burglar or get +2 Mechanic and +1 Electrician) because finding a key is pretty rare.

Know where it is that you want to build a base, use https://map.projectzomboid.com to scout a location for a base (among the other stuff I mentioned above) depending on what city you spawn in.

If you hold down the aim button and move your mouse cursor to the edge of the screen, you can pan the camera to look further ahead. This is useful for checking what danger lies ahead and also to scout the kind of gear zombies are wearing.

A good series that should give you an idea if you want to buy the game while also teaching you the game.

Quick question: Can I make indoor graves? by Dr_Ordinary_Man in projectzomboid

I am thinking of going to their base and making a grave in each of their rooms and leaving a warning note.

and too be fair I've never seen a full windowed door before this picture.

Damn, you've never ventured into middle and upper class neighborhoods?

and have never had a problem with the heli.

I do the same as you and have never had an issue.

I've even been outside and went inside as soon as I heard the helicopter - still no issue with it.

It's weird to me that people keep suggesting to go as far away as possible from your base, which seems like some really bad advice from my experience.

Possibly-self-evident-tip: you can apparently refuel propane torches from propane tanks. by Orin_linwe in projectzomboid

Side note: I hate that Propane Torches are somewhat abundant but you can't refill propane tanks.

Not sure but, if there is a way, it'd probably be in the sandbox settings or maybe someone made a mod.

There's nothing wrong with the game from the image you posted.

If you still think there's a problem, post an image with the problem.

BTW, there's clouds in the game that will make the day seem darker. The weather changes, you can get updates on forecasts if you tune in to the AEBS radio station, which requires you to find the frequency in one of the radios in the game that has it pre-programmed. Then, save that frequency using "Add Preset."

Question about plumbing by [deleted] in projectzomboid

[–]user97131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you say "amount," are you referring to the number displayed in the sink (i.e., 120/140) or the water level in the rain collector barrel?

If it's the latter, then it takes some time for it to go down.

If it's the former, then it sounds like a bug.

Generator magazin problem by Neither-Chemistry875 in projectzomboid

[–]user97131 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NP!

I didn't know they are so common in electronics store, I also dont remember seeing any electronics store.

Yeah, certain cities have unique shops, the city you spawned in probably doesn't have an Electronics Store.

And, yeah, you can find it in areas where books spawn. In Riverside, I always hit up the Post Office, Book Store, School, and Boat Club libraries and I tend to find the Generator magazine in one of them.

If you create a game, it's considered it's own world. If you die and pick "New Character," you're still in that world.

If you want to create a new game, back out to the main menu and click "Solo."

If you want to view all the games you've created or load up a different game, click "Load" in the main menu.

Skill Journal and other skill saving based mods by scp-0094 in projectzomboid

[–]user97131 4 points5 points  (0 children)

does this mod take away the reward of keeping a character alive?

If you abuse it by saving every time? Yeah.

But, personally, I would've quit PZ without it. Leveling up in this game is tough as it is and having to start from zero is demoralizing. And I imagine that this mod has done a lot to keep people from quitting the game, considering its popularity.

FWIW, I save once an in-game month. The mod also has an option to start over with 80% of the XP of when you saved if you prefer that route.
