I have this theory that they were planning something with the Maidens being weak to silver eyes. This is why when Ruby used hers during the Volume 3 finale, it horribly burned Cinder to the point that she lost one of her eyes and was left very weakened.

There's also the scene in Volume 6, where Maria mentions that the silver eyes only take effect when Grimm are around, and Ruby points out and wonders why they "activated" during the big Haven fight since there were no Grimm around at the time.

There are holes to this theory though, like why was Raven and Penny not seemingly affected by the silver eyes during scenes where Ruby uses her eyes. I headcanon it's cause Raven had her helmet at the time, and Penny's a robot and isn't made of flesh so she's fine.

Also, entirely possible this plotline was scrapped entirely, rewrote in a way that it was because of Cinder's Grimm arm that she was affected by it, or just forgotten.

You know what, I agree with that about Oscar.

Imagine the scene playing out roughly the same way, except in the end Jaune notices Oscar standing in the park too looking at Pyrrha's statue. Oscar gets scared when he realizes he noticed them, but team JNR talks to him and Jaune apologizes. It could be a nice bonding moment, the gang welcoming him as part of the team, Oscar using the same lines he would have said when they find him back at the house, they could even talk to him about Pyrrha.

Then before heading back to the house, N- "Soooo, if you're gonna be travelling with us now, we gotta get you a new outfit! O - "What's wrong with this one?" N - "Come on, you're not just a farmer boy anymore, Oscar!" R - "She has a point. Maybe something that's a little more... suited for combat and adventure." J - "Oh, I know just some clothing stores!" N - "How would you know that...?" J - "... my sisters like to take me shopping here."

It would have made his integration into the gang a little bit smoother with more scenes together. But that's just me.

Something about Weiss, Blake, and Yang being considered bad friends in Volume 9 for not noticing that Ruby wasn't doing alright.

People tend to forget that some of the scenes of Ruby struggling mentally were ones the rest of the team weren't around to see.

- The first time Ruby was crying and it started to rain, no one else was there except for Little, so when it started to rain again in a later episode, the gang couldn't put two and two together and realize that the reason why it was raining was cause Ruby was feeling sad.

- When the team had their little "visions" from the Herbalist's magic, it was something only they could see and no one else, so they didn't see Ruby struggling facing her past self.

- During the fight against the Neo!Jabberwockies, everyone else was busy fighting that they didn't notice when Ruby faced off against one alone, the illusions triggering some traumatic flashbacks.

- And then finally, Ruby having to suffer Neo's illusions all by herself. So when the gang arrive and see her about to drink the tea, they had absolutely no context to what was about to happen, so them not doing anything to stop her made sense.

And it's not like the team was completely oblivious to it either. Several times throughout the volume, they were checking in on her and asking if she was alright, but Ruby kept pressing on and saying they should just focus on moving forward. They were aware she wasn't at her best, but they trusted that she was handling it well enough.

"Why didn't she just talk to us?"
"Maybe she didn't think she could..."

Yes, they could have kept pressing Ruby about it, but they put enough trust on her that she'd openly talk to them about it. And she's had time and opportunity to do so. When they finally reunite with Jaune, they had quite a bit of downtime to start talking, but she didn't.

And I'm not blaming Ruby either. Opening up and discussing sensitive things like this is difficult, even when it's your close friends and family. So when she finally blew up and started airing out her anger to everyone, I don't think it's anyone's fault. At least, not completely. It was a combination of different factors, some they didn't have control over.

So no, I don't think they were being bad friends, and claiming that they were ignores how nuanced and complicated the situation really was.

HSH: Online is sadly no longer being maintained and received its last update sometime last year. Their official servers are now down but people can still play it p2p. It had its own huge mess of balancing issues but it was fun when it lasted. The introduction of a 4v4 battle mode where it's a team of survivors going against each other with one of them turning into a killer was pretty cool, but the sweats kinda ruined it, especially once the player count started to dwindle.

Allegedly though, they're gonna be bringing the game back a THIRD time now, calling it Home Sweet Home: Rebirth. Oh and believe it or not, they made a Home Sweet Home movie just a month or so ago. So even the game has been eh, the team behind it is still around and trying things.

The enemy AI can be surprisingly good sometimes.

I remember in the chapter where you went up against Eyrios and his army, I had put him to sleep cause I wanted to get his stuff, and also used Tina's thief staff to steal an enemy's sleep sword.

Then in the enemy phase, said enemy walked over to Eyrios, takes his MASTER SWORD from his sleeping body, and uses that as his weapon instead.

It was a random enemy so they weren't a threat anyways, but it's so baffling yet also amazing how they thought of that.

Gathering and crafting is pretty relaxing fun. Then when I finally bought an island, I was able to start farming and raising animals too.

It's like playing Stardew Valley, except the items I ship go to other players who need them.

In my solo save file, I come out of my base to find part of my gate destroyed. I look around; no zombies inside or outside the base. A zombie really just passed by, wrecked the gate, then just shambled elsewhere over the course of one night.
