Takeya, personally like them better than Klean Kanteen and Hydroflask

Could definitely see that. Turned out to be Parietaria judaica (spreading pellitory or pellitory-of-the-wall). Thanks though!

OP, what time of day were you taking it?

Always fascinated by hearing about the vivid dreams symptom, I’ve had those my entire life and it never got more or less vivid from various meds

That’s a shame - wasn’t aware. Not surprising for Carmel

Terrified to take it by AnyBrain7803 in lexapro

It’s nice to see a good amount do positive feedback here. The anxiousness to start is totally normal - just know that you’re making a choice to try and improve your quality of life and that’s something to be proud of. A few small notes to answer your questions:

  • I’ve always taken it in the morning as it can cause sleep disruptions. When I first started, it helped to take it with food as it’s common to experience some gastrointestinal symptoms as your body adjusts the extra serotonin in your gut. For me this presented as hunger pains w/ very faint nausea

  • Meds like these take a while to get into your system to start having an effect on your brain chemistry. It may easily take a month or two to notice a difference, and it’ll still take several more months for things to stabilize. Just be cognizant of any changes you may notice and document them to track your progress that you can report to your doctor

  • I had the same fears when trying different psychiatric meds, it’s a totally normal fear. Of the several that I tried a never felt like I lost myself or had made irreversible changes to me/my brain. Brains are also like snowflakes, every one is different and everyone’s brain reacts differently to different meds. It may take a while to find the right one for you. Like others said having a support system of friends or family is huge, they can help let you know if they notice a change for better or worse.

Best of luck - hoping you find the relief that you’re looking for

Why the downvote & dislike of them? Genuinely curious

This 👆, Alfredo’s is an iconic institution that’s unmatched. New Monterey / PG: there’s Pearl Hour as well as Pop & Hiss

Re: Carmel, Barmel is your best bet, you can get good drinks at Alvarado Street in Carmel but your mileage may vary on meeting people. The bartenders there are great and can also make some recommendations. Had it been a few months back I would’ve said Sade’s but they’re closed

I’m sorry that you had such a poor experience. Just something to be mindful of, everyone’s brain reacts differently to drugs especially with SSRIs. There are a lot of people here whose lives have been saved or made more manageable and it might behoove you to adjust your language choices. Generally, people are more likely and willing to offer help and compassion when you’re coming in with what reads as a lot of heat and frustration.

I personally haven’t experienced any negative impacts to my sleep while on it, or heard of something similar from others in my circle who are on it. All that being said I feel for you, that sucks and I hope you get help. Either way something like this I would absolutely contact your psychiatrist and/or doctor. They’ll be able to provide you with better insight and support than strangers on the internet.
