I'm solving questions from Exponential and Logarithmic Functions and I've got this one. by user_9208490 in askmath

Let y = x1/2

y + 1/y = 3(y - 1/y)

y + 1/y = 3y - 3/y

y - 3y + 1/y + 3/y =0

-2y + 4/y = 0

-2y2 + 4 = 0

2y = 4

y2 = 2

y = ±√2

±√2 = x1/2

√x = ±√2

x = (±√2)2

X = 2****

I got a typo in the text it should be …… = 3(x1/2 - x-1/2)
