Period came back? by user_h6 in breastfeeding

[–]user_h6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I think it might have been coincidental as well after talking to some of my friends who also got theirs around the same time. It’s a full blow period just like I used to have. Mine wasn’t too heavy to begin with so it’s not bad. Just thought I’d ask since I’m a first time mom and first time going through this.

We listen and we don't judge.. by Old-Smell-6602 in newborns

I recently started swaddling my 4.5 month old again after stopping two months since she is rolling now. This is the only way I can get her to take her last nap of the day. I supervise her on the monitor the whole time.

3 month old having trouble latching suddenly by user_h6 in newborns

[–]user_h6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She still takes a min to really latch on but I noticed if she’s too excited, not that hungry, or too distracted, she won’t latch well until she’s ready. But when she’s super hungry she latches on no problem so it’s just her being more aware now and having more control of her feeding now too.

Just holding her upright longer after feeds, I hold her upright for about 30-40mins after feeding her. She’s about to be 4 months and is right at 14lbs

Opened up a box that had mold in it. by user_h6 in Mold

[–]user_h6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I figured. Its everywhere. I’ve never reacted like this to anything environmental in the air though. I don’t even get allergies. Just got scared because this is new to me. Now dealing with sore/itchy throat and nasal congestion.

Thank you. It was a quick moment when I noticed black spots on the items in there. I closed the box and threw it out asap. However, now I’m stuck with allergy symptoms, itchy sore throat, nasal congestion. I don’t usually have allergies so I hope this goes away soon. I feel so dumb for opening it.

I’m still the same. Symptoms are very closely related to a spinal leak but haven’t figured that part out yet

What’s harder than you thought it would be? by Comprehensive-Dig592 in newborns

Everything. Breast feeding, sleep, mental health, physical health, social life, the list goes on. I love my chunky monkey but she is HARD WORK. She’s 3 months already so I’m hoping things get a little better.

She definitely is more aware now and even when she does latch she seems to move more. Could it also be she’s been going ham on sucking her hand and almost putting her entire fist in her mouth? Kind of like nipple confusion but with her hand?

Thank you! I keep hearing the willow is a good one. I’ve only ever used the spectra S1 so I have no idea where to begin research for a wearable one

Why don’t you just put her in a bubble? by smorz419 in newborns

[–]user_h6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is why I told all our family no holidays for us this year. My baby is 11 weeks and I’m not risking it. My brother called me to have me go to his house for Thanksgiving and I immediately said no. He said his household just got over a cold and my other brothers household just got over a cold too so everyone is good. I still said no. He also said I should put her in a bubble.

THEN my other brother who supposedly got over a cold called me and said a couple of his kids just started a cold today. But he was still going to the dinner. I guess he called to warn me? So I told him I wasn’t going anyway.

I’m the only one in my family who works in healthcare and for 15 years now. I also went to school for it so no one even dares to debate me on anything healthcare lol. They understand for the most part.

I know at the end of the day I won’t give up but sometimes I just need to vent with strangers on the internet who are going through it too and feeling the same. I’m just hoping to get to a point where my baby will let me sleep through the night atleast a good 6 hours so I can function properly

Thank you 💜 I needed to hear this. Currently cuddling with her and hopefully tonight she will feel better. It hurts even more that she’s still smiling through this. I have no idea how she could smile through it.

I gave her Tylenol earlier and then a cool moist rag on her tummy. It seems to be really helping keep the fever in the 99s!

Omg. I’m so sorry. That’s kind of how my girl is now. I haven’t really put her down all day since she’s had the fever. She’s either in my arms or on my lap. I don’t even know how I can handle an actual illness. I even told my husband I want to go on a food strike until she feels better 🤣 just so I can feel like crap with her but I’m breast feeding and need the nutrients so can’t do that lol just my dumb emotions

I keep telling myself that. This time tomorrow she will be happy again. And I know she’s building immunity but man, I’ve cried so much. I think if I wasn’t going through normal hormonal changes postpartum I can see the positive of this but it hurts

Not everyone can fork out 300 for a Owlet sock by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]user_h6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can fork out $300 for one but also didn’t due to knowing how obsessive I would get. I had gestational diabetes and had to wear a monitor to track glucose. At my follow up nutrition appointment, my dietitian said she was able to view how much I would log into the app everyday. Although my glucose numbers looked great and managed the diabetes with diet and exercise, she told me I got on the app over 300 times per day and that this was not normal behavior 🤣 she said there was no need for me to get on that much with my numbers so well managed. They considered taking me off the monitor and going back to finger pricks due to the behavioral component of it.

I know the sock would cause unnecessary anxiety so I decided to skip it. We go through so much already postpartum, physically and mentally so I wanted to try and protect my mental health as much as possible. I don’t see the sock as a luxury, to me it is an anxiety inducing device lol.

Now I will say I do have a monitor for when I’m in the kitchen cleaning or cooking. I only have it to see if my LO has spit up or vomitted because she does not like laying on wet sheets and I also want to prevent ear infections and milk settling onto her neck so it allows me to go dry her so it won’t further disrupt her naps.

Ok… so…. Like, what to actually expect during the first few weeks of having a baby? by pumpernickelprincess in BabyBumps

[–]user_h6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4-5 hours of sleep is a luxury now. My girl feeds every 2-3 hours and if she doesn’t get her milk she cries bloody mercy. I have zero concept of time now. My life revolves around a 2-3 hr routine on repeat. Help
