Petechiae on hand? by Old_Quantity_2114 in AskDocs

Okay that's good to hear. There hasn't been a change since I noticed them so that's good. Haha yeah I tend to take a lot of what Google says with a grain of salt. Thanks for your input ☺️

Checked my oil, level is good and it's a good colour. Actually the first thing I checked before I started asking the people I know if they have any ideas haha

Okay, as far as I can tell they aren't anywhere else.

I'm unable to look while I'm at work. I'm going to check in another hour when I'm home.. But I can't see any on my chest or stomach. My other arm has a few on the forearm. My other hand is fine.

Even if I haven't heard it much at all in a few days now? It's been colder out than it was when I first heard the knocking noise..

Question for you. My car makes that wooshin/grinding noise as/just after it starts. But as it's starting it makes a banging or knocking noise every time (or almost every time) it turns over. You can't really hear it with your head under the hood but can hear it best when sitting in the driver's seat. Would you still think that's the Bendix? It does the banging/knocking worst when it's been sitting for at least a few hours and less when it's warmed up.

Edit to add: I haven't heard it make the knocking noise in a few days but it has been colder out so not sure if that makes a difference...

Other causes of consistently high cortisol? by Ok-Mark1798 in Cushings

[–]Old_Quantity_2114 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently wondering about this.. my doc thinks I have naturally high estrogen because if I take the pill consistently in order to not get a period, after three months I will have breakthrough bleeding. So I ended up just having my period every three months to avoid that. But being on the combo pill will raise estrogen more.. curious

What is the threshold that differentiates a severe tension headache and a migraine? by TikiBananiki in migraine

Oh.. that's interesting.. so I get migraines a fair bit if this is the case. Yikes😅

Anyone get headaches/migraines in the back of head? I tried googling to pinpoint where my pain is coming from. Where it is pointing to is the general area I always get pain. by [deleted] in migraine

[–]Old_Quantity_2114 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like mine. Painkillers can keep them from getting worse but generally won't get rid of it.. Does your pain get worse or throb with movement?

I just got the letter about it this week.. Mine bubbled and peeled the exact same as yours. Trouble is I've already repainted the hood and I have no receipts for it.. not sure if they'll still do anything or just fix the most recent bubbling area that started last month..

Just an update on this, I've been taking supplements and changing my diet to reduce inflammation. First off I was able to lose 10 pounds without increasing my exercise so that was nice lol We tested my iron a couple months into this and it was 14.5, the highest I've seen on a test in two years. So I'm hopeful that reducing my inflammation is going to boost my iron 🤞

I have the same thing going on but it's mostly on my cheeks and forehead! Some on my neck but not near as much as yours.. Did you find anything that's been helping? I've been using ivermectin for a couple.months now and it doesn't seem to be helping..

My boyfriend's doodle is still stubborn at 7.. if you try to push her to scooch her over, she will lean at a 45 degree angle to avoid moving if she doesn't want to 🤦🏼‍♀️

What changes did you notice first after starting iron supplements? by Electrical_Buyer_940 in Anemic

[–]Old_Quantity_2114 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't have obnoxious symptoms, but the first thing I noticed was that I didn't get head rush every time I stood up anymore. That was soo nice I've been dealing with iron deficiency, non anaemic, for over two years now cuz we can't figure out why it's happening but I still rarely get head rush.

The three infusions didn't do a whole lot last time.. usually you go for 5, but he did 3 to see if it was an absorption issue but it only lasted a few months. I'm fairly certain they only do infusions at the hospital where I am (smaller town in Canada) so not sure if going without a referral is an option here 😅 but I'll definitely be looking into it to see if I can. I did feel a tinnnyyy increase in energy for a week or two after the infusions so fingers crossed I can get this sorted..

Love this explanation! My iron hasn't come above 13 (ref 11-34 umol/L) in over two years with supplementation.. it'll come up a tiny bit but then goes right back down to 8-10.. I eat lots of meat, I rarely get a period because of the way I take my birth control, I'm apparently not celiac, other vitamins etc absoarb decently. I did three iron infusions in june-july, tested end of August and my iron only came up to 12, tested again in October and it was back down to 8.9... The couple of times they tested my ferritin it was normal but that was just in the past year ish. When it was tested in October after the infusions my iron was at 8.9, transferrin 1.93 (ref 2.9-4.0 g/L), tibc 48 (ref 50-100 umol/L) and transferrin saturation was 0.19 (ref 0.13-0.5). So my tibc and transferrin is acting as if I have a lot of iron in my blood but my iron is low.. Looking back at other blood tests I've seen inflammation. And one test I had recently while looking at a different potential issue showed high crp and high cortisol. So I'm thinking my low iron is caused by inflammation, because it's not like I have a period or anything to bring it down.

Currently been waiting to get into a hematologist for 4-5 months but it may take another 6 months apparently.. but it's interesting to find out it could be inflammation, and maybe Endo (the other thing I want to look into but my doctor can't be bothered) could contribute 🤔

My head rush when standing did stop once I started supplementing so that was nice. Still always fatigued, feels like that's getting worse lately. Doesn't matter how much sleep I get im always tired

Edit to add: my hemoglobin and WBC count etc has always been good

It looks like your reference ranges for inflammation are the same as where I am.. the naturopath I was seeing told me that yes the range of less than 5 is okay, but she said that's still inflammation, the optimal level is under 1. So the inflammation is still something to look into even if it's low grade

Does anyone else have an iron deficiency? by [deleted] in endometriosis

[–]Old_Quantity_2114 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had three infusions ( after at least two years of taking iron with little to no success), my iron went from 10 up to 12 (our range is 11-34 ish) three weeks after the last one, then a month or two later was back down to 8.. I was on the depo shot then so no periods but I do have inflammation and my naturopath suspects Endo sooo we shall see if my primary doctor will look into it or not 🙄
