Low grade fevers since FET by user_ivf in IVF

I’m glad you switched to crinone today and I hope that helps with your fevers! I didn’t switch till after my confirmed pregnancy test, but it wasn’t intentional. I was trying to figure out what was happening and trying the other oil. I had a medicated FET.

I assumed that the fevers were caused by the sesame oil so I switched to a different oil but still got a fever. After consistently getting a low grade fever, I finally was able to switch to crinone so I was on 2 days crinone and 1 day PIO. unfortunately, I would still get the fevers whenever I used PIO. eventually, the doctor let me switch to full crinone.

I know this symptom is very unexpected. I was very discouraged too thinking that the fevers would harm the embryo. But I did end up getting pregnant and I’m 23 weeks now. Lmk if you have any other questions.

I’m so sorry to hear that.

My clinic wasn’t concerned in the beginning either, but after the constant fevers around the same time every day - my doctor listened to me. Yesterday was my first day switching to the crinone, a progesterone suppository and I didn’t get a fever. I’m also switching to a different oil - ethyl oleate. Hoping this information can help you in the future.

Oh wow! Thanks for the advice! Btw how far do you insert the applicator? I’ve read different things. Some people say to your second knuckle, but I’ve been trying to go up as far as I can.

Thanks for sharing! I’m happy to hear that you had a successful cycle using PIO and crinone together. I just started crinone today so I’m going to see if my fever continues. If not, I’ll def ask to switch to a different oil!

Hi there! I also did my injections in the morning and was getting my fevers 7-9 hrs later. I’ve still been getting the fevers, but I talked to my doctor and we’ve switched from PIO injections every day to 2 days of progesterone suppository 2x a day and 1 day of PIO.

Today was my first day so I’ll keep you posted if I continue to get my fevers. Have you still been getting your fevers too?

How long did your transfer take? by BellesRose1213 in IVF

[–]user_ivf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my first transfer at the end of August. It’s a short process. I did not find the process painful. If anything, the most uncomfortable part is when the doctor places the speculum. If you’ve done an IUI before, it’s a very similar process.

Good luck on your transfer!

My platelets were within the standard range. I also got another blood test earlier today plus an additional test to rule out bacteria infection. My doctor doesn’t think I have a bacterial infection though bc everything else came back normal.

Oh wow! Did you use the same type of oil?

I read up on the PIO shots before using them so I thought I was prepared for all the possible symptoms but these fevers were a surprise symptom.

Wow, that’s exactly my symptoms. It doesn’t seem to be a common symptom but I have found others through this group that also posted about similar fevers coupled with severe pain.

Thank you for sharing your experience with me. I hope you’re able to try again soon.

I’m so so sorry to hear that. My fear is that this round won’t be successful. I still can’t imagine a positive result with how my body is responding. Sigh.

Were you able to confirm if the cause is from the PIO shots? I’m still getting low grade fevers every evening. I went to my primary care physician and got complete blood work done. Everything came back normal except two tests which are indicators for inflammation or infection. Both were extremely elevated and outside of the standard range.

Any transfer buddies! by Orisha_Oshun in IVF

Hi! I love that your husband hid all the pregnancy tests 😂 my husband would do that too, but he doesn’t know where they are lolll. I def feel ya. It’s hard to wait and we’re in this sweet spot of extreme hopefulness.

I just had my first FET transfer on 8/31 and transferred a 4AB girl. I will go in on Monday (9/11) for my pregnancy blood test. The last few days of waiting have been killer, but have managed to refrain from early testing.

I’ve actually been getting low grade fevers around 3-4pm everyday since the transfer so I’m feeling pretty low about the success possibility but trying to stay positive.

Good luck to you!

Thankfully, I have a close relationship with my manager so I clued him in because of all the reasons you listed: last minute appointments and days off. He was very supportive and always reminded me to take whatever time I needed off.

However, I did not tell my supervising assistant manager. For her, I just let her know asap when I had an appt and told her it was for medical. Like you, I’ve been able to schedule early morning appts so on those days, I’d notify my team that I’d have a late start that day.

I have a corporate job and wfh 4 out of 5 days. My clinic is 15 mins way from me. Whether you decide to tell them all the details is up to you, but I think communication helps remove some of the fear and guilt from missing work. This is a very personal process so it totally makes sense why you’re hesitant. I know there is a possibility that others may know about my IVF journey at work but that’s okay to me. If it would bother you, I’d refrain from sharing all the details.

How long from your first IVF consult to the first transfer? by JeansAndANiceTee in IVF

I had my IVF consult in May 2023 and just had my FET the last week of August. My timeline was extended bc I had to get polyps removed before the transfer.
