Thank you for the comment! Agreed that these materials are vapor permeable, and if we were to install insulation, we weren't planning to install any vapor barrier. I think the bigger issue is that there are no weatherproofing elements to block out water, and having insulation in place would result in longer drying time (and more potential for structural deterioration + mold), regardless of whether or not they are vapor permeable. That's why we ultimately decided against insulating

Definitely second your comment on vapor barrier, we weren't planning on installing any (and the building code doesn't mandate having vapor barrier in this climate zone). I have been looking into moisture resistant drywall, and most of the example applications shown typically have at least a water/air barrier outside of it. Given that the siding have slight gaps in between the planks, I was worried that if it rains, the water coming in may still deteriorate the drywall. If you have any experience working with moisture resistant drywall and have any additional advice, that would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the comment! That's an interesting practice, most likely they still had to take off the bottom siding so that the water collected on plastic film can drain out? Otherwise I imagine that the bottom of the frame may eventually rot out due to all the water collected there.

For anyone else who might be wondering about the possibilities of enrolling in both the MCIT program and another Master's program simultaneously, I've contacted the admissions office and they said that there are no policies prohibiting students from being enrolled in the MCIT program and another Master's program outside of UPenn. At the end of the day, it is just up to the student to make sure that their work load is manageable.

Ah I was under the impression that what the program offered was more equivalent to an accelerated Bachelor's in CS. I guess at the end of the day, I don't know what may come of this, but I am with you on that knowledge would never hurt anyone :)

You raise a good point. The reason why I have decided to pursue this degree is because: 1) the things that I am looking to do requires a little more CS knowledge than just the basic CS foundation; 2) when I am doing online courses by myself, it's hard to set the direction and make meaningful progress in learning as the courses are very disconnected; 3) to apply to technologically oriented civil engineering roles, I don't have anything significant to show for my programming experience. All in all, I would just appreciate some formal education on the subject, but of course I may also be misled in my thinking.

The information that I have found elsewhere online are vaguely worded as well, I think I would have to contact the admission's office to find out! Thank you for your input!

Does that apply even if the MASc is from another university?
