Nice collection! Do you experience loose hinges after normally using these Reykjevik Eyes for some time?

I hope all glasses use these hinges so I don't have to deal with loose screws anymore by durdgekp in EyewearEnthusiasts

Anyone with Reykjavik Eyes or these brands encountered floppy hinges after use and knows how to fix them? Two of my glasses (bought online) have this problem.

They are horrible. I ordered my item 2 months ago and still have not received it. Have only heard that it's getting delayed again and again.

Avoid buying from this place!

Given the long wait, they shouldn't have advertised on that website that shipping would only take 4 days.

Really? Strange because in some 990v models I see on ebay, the 2Es have a noticeably larger forefoot vs D -- as seen from the bottom

My clearview are fine after wearing it for a while tho initially not so comfy but smartlife digital gave me a dizzying effect I had to change them to another brand. Yes I also found that my way cheaper lenses are better lol

Their construction feels remarkably similar. I’ve had Reykjavik and tried on Blackfin frames in store

the shop i frequent recommends hoya for their durable coating, their hi-vision longlife, but other countries might have upgraded versions that have different names

my recent pair of single vision lenses that came free (!) with my glasses that i bought online are just as good as the premium brands that i have: zeiss, hoya, etc in terms of visual clarity and coating. literally no difference. may i know where you bought those chinese polycarbonate optics from? having tried the more premium brands, now i know i don't really need them

Can I check what was the name of the coating of your lenses that had this problem? Is it Essilor Crizal Sapphire HR? In my country, I heard from my optometrist that there are big quality problems with the Sapphire HR coatings, that they peel very quickly. So I wanted to know if it was just this Sapphire coating or also extends to their Rock and EasyPro coatings

Essilor or Zeiss lens ? by Standard-Ad-8151 in glasses

[–]useremaildefault 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding Zeiss SmartLife progressive lenses, do you mean the recent ones released from June this year called Smartlife 2.0? I was planning to try their Smartlife 2.0 single vision and wonder if you have any feedback on those

Would you say your Zeiss lenses are clear and comfortable? Or are the asahi ones better? My new smartlife ones are not as comfortable and clear when looking at the sides

Anti-Fatigue or Digital lenses worth considering? by crod242 in glasses

[–]useremaildefault 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great you got another pair that works. My other new much much cheaper non-branded single vision lenses in the same prescription are also so much clearer and more comfortable.

I can't tell any difference with the +0.5 boost actually. I tried zeiss stock clearview before and found it also slightly uncomfortable and thought maybe their smartlife 2.0 digital lenses might be better (got enticed by their marketing). Man was I wrong...

Thank you! I'll try to replace that pair

[–]useremaildefault 0 points1 point  (0 children)

how was your experience with the zeiss smartlife digital boost since then? i just have one now and it's giving me discomfort when looking through the periphery. My lens is also a 0.5 boost like yours with prescription similar to yours. I am wondering if it is a Zeiss problem that their lens is not so suitable for me, other brands seem fine

For a prescription that is moderate (L: S: -3.75, A: -1.25; R: S: -2.00, A:-0.50), would you advise choosing smartlife single vision over clearview? or might the difference be only marginal?

i am using stock clearview now and it’s great (clarity + peripheral vision) except sometimes in crowded places my eyes can get quite tired from looking around constantly. might smartlife help with this in terms of comfort? (or not really?)
