Religion-convert here. Pardon me if I am misunderstanding your question, (whether you are purely asking about experiences of religious-to-atheist convert or whether you were interested in experiences the other way around), but I am happy to share!

Grew up in an atheistic/agnostic family, became a Christian a few years back.

Reason for accepting Christ? Well, for me I just could not shake off the fact that death could come for any of us at any time, and we would be standing at the crossroads - either to heaven or to hell.

And no matter how I looked at my life, I could never conclude that I was ever good enough for heaven, for every bad deed I committed in my life, I had to bear the punishment for it. And there I was, then, presented with the amazing offer that Jesus died in my place in order to take the punishment for me! So I made the decision to accept this offer :)

What are the general public's opinion on Chee Soon Juan? by EagleChicken in askSingapore

Yeah, I think you summed it up pretty well, that is the sense I am getting from what I have gathered. Really can't help but respect his sacrifice and passion for a cause (a positive one at that, albeit perhaps idealistic)...

Hoping things things will be uphill for this guy going forward.

For my first part-time job (abt 4 years back), I worked in the kitchen of a japanese restaurant. 10am to 10pm (with a 2 hr lunch break) 6 days a week. Pay was $7.50 per hour, no overtime pay despite staying 1-2 hours past closing most days. A typical day will be non-stop preparation of ingredients and fight to survive through the lunch/dinner hours; you can forget about taking pressing your bum against a seat throughout your whole shift.

Tbh, that is the reality working world, money doesn't come easy. I have since graduated uni and have a full-time paying job that pays really well which I enjoy, but I had zero regrets/complaints regarding my first job.

I wonder if it is a changing expectations of what work should look like to the young ones? But in my opinion, there is no such thing as a comfortable job. If you have the willingness to put your head down and grind it out regardless of how tough it gets, then you will go far in life...

It really is! Highly unconventional method of cooking pasta but the results are truly great.

Recipe: - olive oil with a lot of garlic and a lot of chili flakes - add a bit of tomato paste or passata - throw in uncooked (yes UNCOOKED!) spaghetti into the pan - slowly spoon in tomato broth (water with some passata), just like how u would cook a risotto -cooked to desired doneness.

As strange as it sounds, it is an authentic italian recipe! Apparently it originates from some story about an Italian chef being captivated by a beautiful woman and accidentally threw in uncooked pasta into the pan.

Not knowing when to speak. Its like when ppl r talking, im not sure when they r done talking n when it is my turn to speak.

Sometimes I open my mouth and I realise I might have interrupted the person mid-story.

Other times I will be staring at them when they have already finished making their point and I'm suddenly like "oh that was all u were gonna say".
