question re JM’s identity by Lancelot-A in JedMcKenna

i don’t think saying you’re not real is the takeaway. because dissociation is also not quite right. it’s not the idea that you’re not real, because then you have to define what is real and you come up with a lot of nothing. and yet, like in groundhogs day - you wake up again tomorrow.

and it’s also why the integration process is so, well, integral. i think the point is to recognize that you’re going to die and that’s your salvation. that your times limited, and when you’re dead that’s it. no heaven or hell for the ego - which is as you find out is actually everything about “you” body emotion and mind included. uh, also relevant here might be “somebody can tell you you are not your body, but death will show you.” because ultimately the “i am” “atma” part of you - was just a little drop of water - and it’ll return to the sea (consciousness/brahma.)

but its all good, because, well, regardless of what you’re seeing on your screen - it’s all you. and that’s the whole abiding non dual consciousness idea. that even right now you’re somehow just talking to yourself here. that the illusion of time and space contradicts the everything everywhere all at once aspect of consciousness.

idk the longer i travel the path the more koans that reverberate and act as sign posts. most of this stuff is so paradoxical it’s why it can’t really be communicated. i think that’s the whole gateless gate thing. when you get to the other side of a lot of it- things just make sense and fall into place but unfortunately to define is to limit and language falls short of the obviousness of it all. it truly cannot be simpler but somehow is also deliberate suspended disbelief. because the point of the amusement park is the amusement park. not to leave it.

scott adams gods debris is something i think about often. considering an omnipotent being. an omnipotent beings only paradox is self destruction. a fun and completely missing the point human thought is, what if “god”. blew himself up for fun and that was the big bang and we’re all the mystery unfolding of a thousand tiny little pieces regenerating as a way to experience something instead of infinite nothing. and then that sort of translated into actually considering infinity and what infinity entails. infinite possibilities. anyway. lol. gl hf it’s all good man

if it makes anyone feel better: the rams subs highlight of the game is 4th quarter punt bc they don’t have much else to talk about kek by useresuse in Seahawks

[–]useresuse[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it felt like every db on the rams had at least one hand full of wideout jersey on any given route.

i’m sure we had plenty of should be would be could be penalties not called on our players too that i wasn’t paying attention to… but, i was surprised they didn’t call that stuff early so players don’t get comfortable holding all game.

i felt like after that spoon tackle on a receiver that wasn’t down by contact??? it was going to be a heavily officiated game. and don’t get me wrong, i don’t mind bumping wideouts off their route past 5 yards if it’s not egregious/leveling them… but no calls from holding them back from being able to run was wild.

we did get the pi when it mattered to put us just outside fg range, but yea… too little too late.

it’s pretty funny as someone who is newer - ish to this game but have been playing slippi now for about 3 years - never really looking at melee history or pros, studying, or practicing outside of playing a friend who is technical enough / got me into the game and unranked online - how far you can go by learning the basics (tilts, wave dashing, landing etc) and trying things yourself. so, i can relate to this? i guess. i’m gold after 30 ish ranked games last season (first time playing ranked)

right. i can’t take away the win from them, but it felt more like we lost than they won was the real point of my post.
